AIDC’s first-half revenue tops NT$19.5 billion to set record

2023-08-22

Defense contractor AIDC, or the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation, has posted record earnings for the first half of the year. At an investors’ conference on Tuesday, it announced first-half revenue exceeding NT$19.5 billion. That’s an increase of 48% compared to the same period last year. Earnings per share stood at NT$1.38, setting a record high.

AIDC specializes in making aircraft. It’s gotten a boost from the recovery of the global shipping market, as well as Taiwan’s homegrown defense policy. Amid tense cross-strait relations, the Tsai administration has pushed for aircraft, drones, and other military equipment to be made domestically, driving demand in the aerospace sector.
