YouTuber Tai Chih-yuan joins President Tsai on trip to Eswatini

President Tsai Ing-wen is visiting Eswatini with many seasoned Taiwan politicians. But she’s also joined by a popular YouTuber. Comedian Tai Chih-yuan went along to make video content – on what it’s like to be a presidential aide. From attending official functions to fielding media questions, the YouTuber is experiencing what it’s like on diplomacy’s front lines.
It’s a banquet in Eswatini, held in honor of President Tsai Ing-wen. This man filming with his smartphone might appear to be one of Tsai’s aides. But look twice – he’s a familiar YouTuber.
He’s none other than YouTuber Tai Chih-yuan, who’s joined Tsai on her visit to Africa. He is here with the production team from Muyao 4 Super Playing, filming content on what it’s like to be a presidential aide for a day.

The Presidential Office had been discussing the concept with the Muyao team since the beginning of the year. We wanted to let viewers know how tough it is to be in a front-line diplomatic delegation.
Tai was at the airport and on the charter plane. He even had a go at answering media questions.
Tai came fully prepared, and he’s documented many fine points of working as a diplomat. But his presence in Eswatini has raised questions on who’s paying his way.

All expenses are paid for by the Muyao team. They are paying as much as everybody else. Staying in the same accommodation and flying in the same class on the plane.
The Presidential Office stressed that Tai and his team were paying for the trip out of their own pockets. His YouTube content isn’t out yet, but already, it’s provided plenty of fuel for debate.

總統蔡英文出訪友邦"史瓦帝尼"，令人訝異的是，藝人邰智源的YouTube團隊"木曜4超玩"，也是隨行團隊其中一員，原來他們和總統府合作，拍攝"一日總統幕僚系列"，總統府發言人張惇涵說，從年初就開始在溝通，也強調"木曜4超玩"是自費參加，沒花國民的錢。
總統蔡英文出訪友邦史瓦帝尼，僑宴氣氛很熱鬧，眼前一名男子拿手機錄影，第一眼還以為是幕僚，但這髮型、背影，怎麼越看越眼熟。
跟僑胞熱情互動，他就是藝人邰智源，這回跟著蔡英文走跳。原來他帶著木曜4超玩團隊，隨行拍攝"一日總統幕僚系列"。

“其實是從今年初，總統府就有跟木曜團隊開始討論構思。能夠讓很多觀眾的朋友，更能夠了解第一線外交團隊的辛苦。”
從機場、專機，就能看到邰智源緊跟在旁，還和媒體玩起快問快答。
邰智源做足準備，也隨時記錄外交人員如何互動。只是網紅跟著出訪，外界質疑，錢誰出的。

“相關的費用都是由木曜團隊自己支出的，大家也看到，他們跟大家付一樣的錢，房間住一樣的，甚至飛機艙等也坐一樣的。”
強調錢是由邰智源團隊自己支付，木曜4超玩拍過很多一日系列，這次擔任小英"一日幕僚"，再次掀起話題。
