iPhone’s free messaging service leaves users vulnerable to spam from businesses and scammers

Many iPhone users are finding they are being bombarded with spam in their iMessage inboxes. This is because businesses and scammers alike are taking advantage of Apple’’s free messaging function between Apple devices by mass texting unsuspecting users. People have responded by simply ignoring the texts or downloading blocker apps.

Experts advise users of both the iPhone and android phones that it’’s best to take immediate action, whether it is by deleting the message right away or activating a blocker app. If caught, scammers can face up to 7 years in prison or a fine of up to NT$3 million.

不少蘋果用戶,最近飽受iMessage垃圾訊息干擾,因為蘋果的免費簡訊功能,被投資業者或詐騙集團鎖定,用來大量群發,有人選擇不理會,或下載軟體阻擋。

專家提醒,最好還是直接封鎖。不管是蘋果或是安卓用戶,最快的方法,就是直接刪除,或開啟垃圾訊息阻擋功能,真要追究,詐騙簡訊還可依刑法,處7年以下有期徒刑,或併科罰金300萬元。
