Kaohsiung temple mediums channel Virgin Mary during Germany trip

It’s hard to picture the Virgin Mary encountering Eastern gods in a Christian church. But recently, mediums from Yi-Cheng Tang Guandi Temple in Kaohsiung went to Europe to share their century-old practice of spirit writing. At the invitation of University of Erlangen-Nuremberg professor Michael Lackner, who was formerly a visiting scholar at Academia Sinica, temple representatives conducted two spirit writing ceremonies. Through the automatic writing ritual, the Virgin Mary welcomed the Eastern gods into her house of worship.
A group of spirit writers from Kaohsiung’s Yi-Cheng Tang Guandi Temple enter a church in Nuremberg, Germany. Medium Lin Mao-shen feels something immediately and begins a solemn welcoming ceremony.
In a rare convergence of religions, the group led by temple chair Hung Jung-li conducts a first-ever spirit writing ceremony in a European church. Many curious onlookers came inside to watch.
The group came at the invitation of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, particularly its center for Alternative Rationalities and Esoteric Practices from a Global Perspective. Their focus unbroken, the mediums channel messages from the gods through a spirit writing ritual.
The Holy Emperor Guan dictated an acrostic poem on the theme of “alternative rationalities,” as well as another based on Professor Michael Lackner’s Chinese name, who invited the group. Every word and every line sounds meticulously crafted. The German spectators were riveted by the translation.

The method is the same as in Taiwan. There’s no difference. An acrostic poem I think is a kind of respect. Since we’re visiting, the gods are showing respect for this place.
The second spirit writing ritual was conducted at a hall at the ruins of St. Catherine’s Church. The Virgin Mary also descended to welcome the visitors, dictating an even more refined poem. Both sessions were well received by the German audiences, who shared questions one-on-one.

Apart from the ritual, Professor Lackner, who used to be a visiting scholar of esotericism at Academia Sinica, also gave a lecture. Now that the visit is over, the spirit writing team will always have the unique distinction of introducing a new kind of religious exchange between the East and West.

很難想像西方的聖母瑪利亞，竟然可以在教堂內，和東方廟宇神明進行宗教交流。已經有百年扶鸞文化歷史的高雄意誠堂關帝廟，就受到曾擔任台灣中研院交流學者，德國埃爾蘭根紐倫堡大學朗宓榭教授，以學校名義邀請意誠堂前進歐洲，進行兩場史無前例的教堂扶鸞，聖母瑪利亞也透過扶鸞鸞筆，歡迎東方神明的到訪。
高雄意誠堂扶鸞團隊前進德國紐倫堡，來到當地聖心教堂門前，扶鸞正鸞手林茂伸立即有了感應，先進行請禮儀式，場面莊嚴。
主委洪榮豊率領團隊，一場跨越時空宗教領域，歐洲教堂內的第一場扶鸞交流盛會，隨即展開，許多德國民眾也好奇前來觀摩。
邀請單位埃爾蘭根紐倫堡大學，「別樣理性全球視野下的秘術研究」國際中心的教授和博士們，目不轉睛的看著，神明透過扶鸞手降下的神諭詩句。
文衡三聖帝就以邀請主題「別樣理性」降下藏頭詩句，也以主辦的德國「朗宓榭」教授的名字降下藏頭詩，逐字逐句，平仄押韻毫不馬虎，透過翻譯，讓德國民眾相當好奇。

第二場扶鸞展演在聖母院遺址的卡特琳娜廳進行，聖母也都降靈歡迎團隊，宣化藏頭詩更是越發精彩。兩場都接受民眾一對一的問事解惑，德國友人相當踴躍。
