A local meat bun shop in Miaoli has been serving up delicious fare for customers for almost 30 years. Already passed down to its second generation, the shop offers limited quantities of handmade buns daily. The ingredients are bought and cooked the same day, and everything from the cooking oil, to the buns’ signature purple markings are made by hand with natural ingredients. Selling out in just five hours, this shop proves that good flavor comes from sticking to your philosophy.

The aroma of the juicy buns frying on the hot plate is like a wake-up call to the senses. The shop has just opened up for the day, but the queue is already full of hungry customers.

In the kitchen, some are rolling out the dough, some are shaping the buns, and others are frying them up. Although it’s a tiny shop, it’s bustling every day from the time it opens at 2 p.m.

The secret to the buns’ delicious flavor lies in the filling, which is chock full of green onions and pork. The filling is wrapped in a thin, delightfully chewy dough. Even if you scald yourself on the first bite, you won’t be able to resist taking a second. The shop, located in front of Miaoli Railway Station, has been in business for 27 years, and its philosophy is written right on the wall: "Cheap and delicious no matter what."

We buy the ingredients in the morning and cook them up in the afternoon. My mother taught us that freshly cooked ingredients are the most delicious.

The shop offers six flavors of buns: five savory and one sweet. All are wrapped and cooked by hand. The purple markings on the outside of the buns are made from fresh dragon fruit juice, and the buns are fried with oil extracted by the chefs themselves.

Over almost 30 years of business, the shop has survived several waves of inflation, but still insists on offering a friendly price. With such delicious offerings cooked with care, it’s no wonder they sell out in less than five hours a day.

美味需要擇善固執的堅持!苗栗市有家經營快30年的餡餅店,已經傳承到第二代,每天限量供應的手工餡餅,都是當天採買新鮮食材、現做現包,不只食用油是自製的,餡餅上蓋的印子,也堅持使用天然水果色素,一天只賣5小時,常讓客人撲空。

油煎香氣四溢,就像喚醒食慾的生理時鐘,餡餅店剛開張,門口早已排滿飢腸轆轆的客人。

廚房裡擀皮的、包餡的,煎餅的大夥分工合作,小小一間餅舖子,每天下午兩點開始忙得不可開交。

剝開餡餅,美味的奧祕就在內餡裡,滿滿青蔥段加上豬肉,搭配薄而Q彈的麵皮,燙嘴卻讓人停不了口,這家位在苗栗火車站前的餡餅店,創店已經27年,經營理念就像牆上掛著的店訓,「堅持廉價美味」。

六種口味餡餅,五鹹一甜,全是手做現包,外皮上蓋的紫紅色印子,也取自新鮮火龍果的果汁色素,再搭配自家榨的清香油現煎。

手工餡餅店,飄香30年,挺過好幾波物價翻漲,仍堅持親民銅板價,有人情味的佛心美味,難怪每天營業不到5小時就完售。
