That’s 2.38 percentage points lower than the forecast figure from November that year. The quarter saw the first negative growth rate in 27 quarters, which has been mainly attributed to poor export performance.

All in all, Taiwan’s economy grew by 2.43% in 2022, 0.63 percentage points less than anticipated in November. That’s the worst economic performance since a growth rate of 2.11% in 2016.
