Now we have a first look at a Taiwan-funded ambulance on Ukraine’s front lines. This July, a Changhua County businessman donated 48 emergency vehicles to Ukraine’s war effort. Newly released footage looks inside one of those vehicles, where a rescue worker tends to the wounded. Ukrainian medical staff thanked the people of Taiwan, saying the ambulance was used to save five soldiers last Sunday.

Just one vehicle saved five soldiers. And all of them had head injuries. When I saw the news around 4 a.m., my heart started to beat just a bit faster. I was supposed to be asleep but my eyes lit up. They lit up because I was thinking, “How can I get more vehicles – vehicles that are ready now – delivered to Ukraine even faster?”
The donor, Pai Tsan-jung, had refurbished retired vehicles including four wheel drives, rehabilitation buses, and fire trucks. Most of the vehicles were ambulances. In his next effort, Pai will send another 70 refurbished vehicles to Ukraine in November at the soonest.
