Antisocial parking at Hehuanshan leads parking lots to institute charges

A wave of antisocial parking behavior around the scenic area of Hehuanshan has led several parking lots to institute charges. Many of the private parking lots in the region are free. But vehicles have been found monopolizing the spaces long-term, making it difficult for visitors to find a space. Qingjing Farm has been one of the first to introduce charges, with mixed results. Some say they can understand the need for a fee, but think it should be set lower. Other parking lots plan to follow suit.
The private parking lot by Qingjing Farm is empty. Only a coach stops to drop off some visitors. In the past, the lot was free to use and packed to bursting. That led some vehicles to occupy the spaces permanently. But parking fees were introduced on Dec. 18, and the previous occupants have vanished.
Tourist
As far as I’m concerned, as tourists, we’re paying users, so it’s made the through-flow in the parking lot better. It’s not a bad thing. But I think the parking charges could be a bit cheaper.
The nearby Mist Plaza and Swiss Garden are both run by external operators. They used to offer free parking, but because the spaces would be occupied by long-term users, they introduced charges: NT$50 an hour for small cars, and NT$100 an hour for large vehicles, with no upper limit.

It would be OK if they charged you by the number of visits. But charging by the hour has a big impact.
Meanwhile, further up Hehuanshan, crowds are huge at weekends and holidays. Wuling Parking Lot is free, and spaces are hard to come by. The Nantou Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency has started planning a parking charge, which it plans to implement in March next year.

We will have different prices for weekdays and weekends and holidays. Weekdays will be NT$50 an hour, and weekends and holidays NT$60. The maximum charge for one day will be NT$300. In principle, scooters will have a flat charge of NT$20.

I think there are pros and cons to charging. If they charge, maybe they can maintain the place better.
The parking lots which are slated to introduce changes include those at Wuling, Kunyang and Hehuan Villa.

清境停車收費"無上限" 嚇跑占位車宿露營族

南投合歡山武嶺停車場，週末都吸引爆滿的人潮，出現交通亂象，開車族也找不到車位，林業保育署南投分署決定改採停車收費制，將在明年3月試營運。而在清境農場周邊，也有類似狀況，農場附近兩處委外經營的私人停車場，12月18日起，改採收費計時，收費無上限，讓占位露營族全嚇跑。
清境農場周邊私人停車場，停車位空空蕩蕩。只有遊覽車載著遊客前來，但如果是先前，因為不用收費，可是一位難求，導致車格遭到長期占用，但18日啟動收費後，占位族都跑光光了。

目前清境商場和小瑞士花園都是委外經營，兩處私人停車場先前採免費使用，導致部分車格被占用，收費後，小型車一小時收50元，大車收100元，收費無上限。

再往合歡山走，週末假日人潮多，免費的武嶺停車場，停車位也不好找。林業署南投分署著手規劃停車收費制，預計明年三月上路。

目前規劃收費的停車場，包含武嶺、昆陽以及合歡山莊前停車場，希望減少停車占位亂象。
