Japan company sends vehicle to help restore Hualien roads

Turning now to Hualien. The earthquake-damaged Uranus Building is no more, after demolition work wrapped up on Wednesday. The next step is to pave the surrounding roads. To assist in the process, a Japanese company has provided a vehicle with ground-penetrating radar.

This piece of machinery can detect any unseen sinkholes beneath the road surface. The Japanese company said it was providing the vehicle free of charge, to thank Taiwan for its support after the 2024 Noto earthquake.

日本透地雷達探查車來台 協助花蓮道路健檢

因地震倒塌的花蓮天王星大樓,拆除完畢,共清出8千噸土方,以及90多件遺失物。大樓拆除,預計週五鋪路通車,有日本透地雷達探查車業者,將探查車運到台灣。

180公分寬重型機具,協助探測路面下,有無隱形坑洞。社長說,今年1月1日能登半島發生大地震的時候,日本受到台灣很多方面的支援,他們也希望能盡一份心力,為花蓮提供一些協助。
