Over the past two years, conservationists have recorded more than 80 sea turtles near Green Island. Five species were found in the area, including the rare loggerhead sea turtle and the olive ridley sea turtle. The findings are the results of a research project led by the Ocean Conservation Administration and the Society for Nature and Humanity for Taitung.
On the screen now you can see a turtle paddling around in the deep blue sea, gliding over a coral reef. About 80% of the turtles found were green sea turtles, and some 20% were hawksbills. If you often go to the seaside, remember that sea turtles are protected species. If you happen upon one, do not disturb it. Just admire its beauty from a distance and enjoy the precious encounter.
