The last Wednesday of April is International Guide Dog Day, and what better way to spend it than with 10 Labrador puppies? That’s exactly what former President Tsai Ing-wen did, on her visit to the Huikuang Guide Dog School. Having previously raised three guide dogs herself, she was delighted to spend time with the pups.
One of the dogs, called Choya, even got a hug from the former president. Its clumsy moves were adorable, and its name, a reference to an alcohol brand, made Tsai think that it was acting drunk all the time. Tsai said the dogs were like angels to their owners, and reminded the public to learn the proper etiquette when encountering one in public. That is: don’t feed, don’t pet, don’t call it, and don’t bar the dog and the owner from entering spaces and make sure to ask the owner if they need help.
