Taiwan’s women’s tug-of-war team gave a stunning performance at the 2025 World Games. They won every single match they competed in and ended up bagging their sixth consecutive gold medal from the World Games. After their victorious return to Taiwan, their coach attributed their outstanding job to the training drills that they did before the big day.
As soon as Taiwan’s women’s tug-of-war team arrives at the airport lobby, cheers and applause erupted to welcome them. They’ve just won gold at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China. Not only that—it’s their sixth consecutive gold medal in the 500kg category.

I was on the bench for the women’s team this time. Seeing them do so well in every match is something I’ll never forget.
The team had a rough start, having their first match delayed due to the rain. Still, they persisted and won all five matches before the semifinals against Germany. Then, they won 2-0 against Germany and then went on to win against Sweden in the final. In other words, they won all seven matches including the final.

For our first match, it had started to rain heavily before we’d even headed out. Then we had to compete under the rain. But everyone really worked so hard in every match.

We’re very grateful that the tug-of-war association held a series of challenges before the games, two weeks of which was in the rain. This time in Chengdu we also had to compete in the rain. Good thing we’ve already tried it out in Taiwan.
The women’s tug-of-war team gave stunning results this year, having won all seven matches they participated in and nabbed their sixth consecutive gold. This was also Taiwan’s first gold medal at the 2025 World Games. They did it with many drills before the official games, allowing them to stay on top of their game despite the rainy weather.

在成都舉行的世界運動會中，台灣女子拔河隊在500公斤組項目，以7連勝完美封后，並完成世運會6連霸。拔河隊周二晚間回到台灣，教練表示，很感謝協會在賽前舉辦多項比賽讓他們以賽代訓，幫助他們可以在大雨的狀況下勇奪佳績。
才剛踏進機場大廳，現場等候已久的家屬立刻抱以熱烈掌聲及歡呼，台灣女子拔河隊，從今年的成都世界運動會奪金歸來，並創下500公斤級賽事6連霸。

“因為我這次女生組是候補選手，所以看到他們這樣每一場，我都覺得是非常難忘的”
回顧整個奪金過程，台灣女子拔河隊先是因雨延後開賽，但這並不影響他們的氣勢，以5連勝之姿挺進準決賽，面對德國隊，台灣小將乾淨俐落以2:0拆毀德國坦克，決賽交手瑞士，也將他們斬落馬下，7連勝完美封后。

“非常感謝協會安排一系列的挑戰賽，那其中有兩個禮拜是下雨的，雨勢下雨，所以是水上，所以我們等於是，在這次的成都世運會裡面打水戰，其實在我們台灣，在出國前我們已經試過了”
這回台灣女子拔河小將，不但以7連勝，完美完成世運會6連霸壯舉，也是本屆台灣代表團首金，教練除了感謝拔河協會安排一系列賽事讓他們以賽代訓，也謝謝選手撐過惡劣天氣，替自己也替國家，打下這份榮耀。
