There are few things worse than taking a long train ride next to someone chatting away on the phone. Fortunately, that will no longer be a problem on the High Speed Rail starting next month. From Sept. 22, the HSR will launch a "quiet car" policy, prohibiting noise in certain cars. If you need to answer a phone call, you’ll have to go to the gangway or you could be refused admission in the future. Let’s get some people’s reaction.

I think you should try to be quiet in the train anyway. But it’s inevitable that you’ll get a call sometimes. If you really need to speak for a long time, it’s best to go out.

It’s not great if you bring kids along. You can’t just plop them on a separate car, but you also can’t bring them along.
There’s also another potential change that could be implemented next year. To avoid overcrowding, the HSR may stop selling tickets to cars with unreserved seats on certain trains during extreme peak hours. The measure is intended to be enforced before holidays and in the last days of long breaks.
