A famous bakery from Fukuoka, Japan, is coming to Taiwan for the first time. The bakery is known for its homemade melon buns with rich, dense fillings, including their classic mascarpone cream and coffee bun that tastes like tiramisu. For its entrance to Taiwan, the bakery will offer distinctly Taiwanese flavors such as tapioca pearls and coconut jelly.

These Japanese melon buns have a crispy cookie crust, paired with a dense mascarpone cream filling. The cream melts in your mouth like ice cream, and when topped with coffee syrup, tastes just like tiramisu.

The crust of the bun crackles as it’s cut in half. A coffee syrup is then poured on either half, seeping into the soft, fluffy bread.

Then comes the cold mascarpone filling, sandwiched by the melon bun. Finally, the baker sprinkles cocoa powder on top, completing this tiramisu-inspired Japanese treat.

We use dough with a high water content to make the bread softer. We also add yogurt to make the creamy flavor more refreshing.

These melon buns also come in Taiwanese flavors such as tapioca pearls and mango juice, itssweet and sour flavor seeping into the bun to make it especially refreshing. Another choice adds coconut jelly directly into the mascarpone cream, offering multiple tastes and textures in every bite.

外皮酥脆的日本蜜瓜包,仔細看,居然包入馬斯卡彭內餡,一碰到舌尖溫度,開始融化,彷彿冰淇淋,還有苦甘咖啡,明明是蜜瓜包,吃起來卻像提拉米蘇。

外皮有多脆,聽聲音就知道,淋上濃縮咖啡糖水,讓咖啡香氣透入麵包裡。

冰涼的馬斯卡彭內餡,就能登場,夾起來,再用可可粉畫下句點,讓日本蜜瓜包,有了義大利甜點的靈魂。
