Lai visits Greater Taipei troops ahead of Dragon Boat Festival

Ahead of the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival holiday, President Lai Ching-te on Tuesday visited two troops in Greater Taipei, the Navy’s Shongshan Radar Station and the Army’s Guandu Area Command, where he inspected drills and herd presentations.

In remarks, the president pledged to make remedies on slashed items in the special defense budget. He insisted that the administration will deliver on the difference, either through proposing an additional regular budget, raising the annual regular budget, or by introducing additional packages.
