A group of adorable sea turtles was recently captured by a passerby on video. The animals were paddling in a cooling water outlet of the shuttered Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant in Pingtung County. The video was shared online, where it attracted over 10,000 likes and comments. It turns out the turtles were taking advantage of a strong current to wash algae off their bodies. Let’s find out more.
Strong waves crash against this concrete-lined canal, whipping up spray into the air. At least five sea turtles can be seen swimming, paddling with their flippers on the surface of the water. This rare sight was captured by a passerby at a cooling water outlet coming out of a nuclear power plant in Hengchun.
The passerby was just taking a walk on the beach to relax when he unexpectedly saw sea turtles poking their heads out of the water. The video was shared online and attracted more than 10,000 likes and comments, with many exclaiming it was incredibly therapeutic.

The area near Taiwan’s Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant outlet has always been a popular diving spot, and snorkelers say they often see sea turtles in the vicinity.

From what we can tell, these sea turtles seen in the waterway seem to be using the strong current to swim upstream and wash the algae off their bodies.
It turns out that these adorable sea turtles were swimming against the strong current gushing from the outlet, constantly paddling their front flippers to go upstream, sometimes surging forward to breathe in the spray, sometimes being swept back by the current, but persevering and continuing to swim forward. They were taking a “turtle bath”. The rising tide allowed a member of the public to capture this rare and therapeutic scene.

恆春核三廠出水口有嬌客! 民眾直擊"成群海龜"集體衝浪

有民眾在屏東恆春核三廠出水口發現，成群的海龜身影，還錄下影片分享，吸引許多網友們驚嘆。其實這處出水口水道，也是潛水客們才知道的賞龜秘境。專家說海龜會來這裡衝浪，應該是為了清除，身上的藻類。
強勁水流拍打岸邊，激起陣陣浪花，水面上可以看到至少五隻的海龜滑動四肢，在海裡優游。這副難得的景象是在恆春核三廠出水口的地方，被民眾路過拍下。
只是到海邊走走散心，沒想到看到海面上，有海龜探出水面，民眾分享到網路上，吸引超過萬名網友點讚討論，直呼太療癒。

原來一隻隻可愛的海龜頂著出水口湧出的強勁水流，不斷擺動前肢"逆流而上"，頂著浪花、時而探頭呼吸，時而被水流沖回，鍥而不捨地繼續往前游，是在"沖澡"，也因為漲潮的緣故，才讓民眾捕捉到，這少見的療癒畫面。
