In towns without ATMS, locals can collect NT$6,000 handout at police station

2023-04-06

Taiwan’s NT$6,000 cash handout program is in full swing. But for those living in three remote townships without ATMs, the rules are a little different. Instead of collecting the cash at a machine, locals can head on over to their local police station.

The three townships in question are Jinfeng Township in Taitung, Wanrung Township in Hualien, and Shizi Township in Pingtung. To get that sweet cash, locals must preregister. They should bring their health insurance card and ID to the police station by April 19, any time between 8 in the morning and 6 p.m.
