
According to the latest government figures, Taipei leads the nation’s 22 cities and counties in average disposable income. Hsinchu County takes second place and Hsinchu City takes third. But when it comes to average savings per household, Taipei drops to third place. No. 1 in savings goes to Hsinchu County, followed by Miaoli County.

In Miaoli County, housing prices and the cost of dining in is much lower than in Taipei City. Because there are some high-tech parks in Miaoli County, there are some engineers with higher incomes than those who work in Taipei City, which is dominated by the service industry.
Last year in Taipei, the average household had disposable income of NT$1.4 million. At the same time, average spending was NT$1.1 million, leaving just NT$340,000 in savings. Meanwhile in Hsinchu County, the average household had disposable income of NT$1.4 million. Average spending was NT$970,000, leaving savings of NT$400,000. That’s the MOST in average savings among the 22 cities and counties. Miaoli, at second place, had average savings of NT$380,000.
主計總處公布最新數據發現,去年各縣市平均家庭可支配的所得,台北市奪冠,新竹縣市各拿下第二和第三名,不過再以每戶平均儲蓄來看,台北市退居第三,第一名是新竹縣,第二名則是苗栗縣。

“苗栗縣的一些房價,還有就是說一般餐廳的這種訂席的價格,相較台北市當然是要低很多,因為苗栗縣有一些高科技的園區進駐,在這一部分的工程師的收入,當然會比一般以服務業為主的台北市,可能平均上還要再高一點。”
去年台北市家庭可支配的所得平均144.4萬元,但平均消費支出達109.6萬,平均儲蓄為34萬元。新竹縣家庭可支配的所得平均分別為138萬,但消費支出97萬低於台北市,每戶平均儲蓄40萬,居全國之冠,第二名的苗栗則是38萬。
