Coriander is a favorite herb in Taiwan, although it can be a polarizing taste. It’s often added to classic Taiwanese street foods like guabao buns and oyster noodles. Today we check out a Japanese burger restaurant where coriander has taken over a whole burger. It’s the fruit of a collaboration between the restaurant and local farmers. But does the green stuff hit the spot for customers? Reactions are mixed.
A big chicken leg cutlet goes in the deep fryer. A grilled bun is spread with butter and topped with lettuce. But the soul of the dish is yet to come.
The burger is filled to the brim with coriander. Its aroma hits the nostrils long before it’s in your mouth. The restaurant is working with small, local farmers to create this coriander-ific chicken leg burger.

We have a long-term collaboration with organic farm producers. They take great care of the coriander. We wanted to integrate it, into a Chinese-style dish. Everyone loves the coriander, actually.
It’s a creative take on the Japanese burger template. Some customers say they can handle a sprig of coriander, but they retreat from a huge mountain like this.

I can manage the smell, but I don’t like eating it. So when I see that whole ball of it, I think I would discount it as an option.

Young people hate it, but we don’t. People our age really love coriander, and burgers made with it. It’s the same with typical steamed dumplings.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen coriander take over a burger. A pizza parlor also filled a dish with enough sweet taro to hide the other toppings. Now coriander burgers are back on the agenda, love it or hate it.

怕香菜不要看! 日式漢堡業者推"香菜雞腿堡"

香菜可說是台灣小吃的最佳綠葉，搭配卦包或是蚵仔麵線，都有畫龍點睛的效果，但也有不少人很怕香菜，先前有披薩業者，推出滿滿的香菜披薩。現在又有日式漢堡業者，與在地小農合作，引進大量香菜，推出超浮誇香菜雞腿漢堡。
大塊雞腿排，放進油鍋裡炸，再把烤好的漢堡皮，塗上醬料放點生菜，不過，整道菜的靈魂，還在後頭。
整顆漢堡放進滿滿香菜，還沒咬下，味道就直衝腦門，業者與在地小農合作，把多汁雞腿排搭配海量香菜。

“應該是說我們長期配合的有機農場的廠商，有照顧很好的香菜，我們想說把它做一個結合，有一個中華風的料理，其實大家都對香菜是蠻喜歡的”
日式漢堡玩創意，有人說一點點還能接受，但像這樣一大把，先退一步。

先前把香菜加到爆的，還有披薩業者，滿到看不見餅皮的香菜，上頭放著的是香甜芋頭。這回浮誇香菜漢堡登場，又引起話題。
