Even on week days, the Chihkan Tower is packed with visitors hoping to immerse themselves in the history of Tainan. The exclusive souvenirs at the gift shop are loaded with cultural flavor, and are a must-buy for many tourists looking to take a memento home.

Last year marked 400 years since Tainan’s founding. In addition, Tainan hosted the Creative Expo Taiwan. The two events attracted a lot of visitors to Tainan’s cultural landmarks, which translated into a boost in revenue.
According to city data, Tainan’s quadricentennial celebrations and the creative expo boosted revenue from creative product sales at city landmarks to a record NT$58 million. From Cheng Gong Beer and Popcorn to Confucius Snack Noodles and Grand Matsu Milk Puffs, the snacks showcase the vibrant culture of the city through historical and religious elements. At the Chihkan Tower, the Literature God Potato Snacks become really popular during exam season.

The god of literature in the Wenchang Pavilion is very effective. After their wishes are granted, the students come to leave offerings as a tribute for the god, they bring the Literature God Potato Snacks and other cultural products such as biscuits.
And the products get a redesign every now and then to celebrate special occasions. For example, to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the city walls, the city released a gift set of cakes, featuring the Great South Gate on the box aiming to capture sales for the Lunar New Year.

台南古蹟遠近馳名,推出的古蹟限定商品,也是不少民眾伴手禮的首選。搭上去年台南400,以及台灣文博會吉祥物「巷仔Niau」的熱潮,2024年古蹟限定商品,締造超過5800萬元的營業額,創下歷史新高。
台南知名的古蹟赤崁樓,即使是平常日,還是看得到遊客造訪,除了走訪歷史的場域,旁邊的販賣部,架上滿滿的古蹟限定文創商品,也是遊客們,愛不釋手的紀念品。

市府文化局統計,去年在台南400系列活動,以及台灣文博會的推波助瀾下,古蹟文創商品年營業額超過5800萬元,創下歷史新高。成功系列、至聖先師的點心麵、媽祖泡芙等等,都是結合歷史、廟宇信仰等文化元素,推出的文創商品。而赤崁樓現地,每逢考試季,還有這一款赤嵌魁星餅,業績格外亮眼。

每年文創古蹟商品,都在力求推陳出新,尤其今年配合「府城建城300」,文化局也推出,以大南門城作為封面,集結在地果酥的伴手禮,要搶佔年節送禮的市場。
