Proactive middle schooler takes initiative to clear irrigation channels on his own

A problem-solving middle schooler in Tainan is being showered in praise for his sense of initiative. The boy saw that debris from the recent typhoon and storms had clogged up the irrigation channels in his hometown. Seeing the problem, he headed home to grab a shovel and cleared the twigs and leaves, all of his own accord. The gesture has not gone unnoticed in his community and online.

He couldn’t bear seeing the waterway blocked with leaves and twigs, so he took matters in his own hands, going home to get a shovel and clear the blockage. His proactive problem-solving has garnered him praise online, with more than 80,000 likes on social media.

The branches and leaves were blocking the water, it could’ve caused flooding. Everyone else was busy, but I had time, and I couldn’t bear to see it like that, so I went home to get a shovel and cleared the channel.
The student took the initiative to clean his neighborhood, a gesture that has not gone unnoticed. Some joked that he would certainly win an election for borough warden. Others have praised his upbringing, which has made him grow into a neighborly kid. He sees it differently though. For him, he was just doing what he was supposed to.

He comes from a farming family, and they are used to irrigating the crops, so whenever there’s something blocking the waterway, they clear it out. Since it was a kid who did it of his own accord, it might encourage more people to do the same.
Having grown in a farming family, the middle schooler was used to helping out. His school is incredibly proud of him.

國中男學生主動清理溝渠大量落葉 數萬人按讚

丹娜絲颱風過後，民眾忙著清理家園，在台南西港就有民眾看見，一名國中男學生因為發現路旁溝渠內，堆滿大量落葉，擔心接下來又淹水，立刻回家拿來鏟子，主動幫忙清水溝，民眾拍下這畫面po網，大批網友替這位小弟弟按讚，直呼實在太暖心。
颱風過後，一名國中生站在農田旁的水溝裡，身上滿是泥濘，他手裡拿著鏟子，主動幫忙清水溝，把堆積的大量落葉，全都鏟起來。
男同學因為見到水溝內都是落葉，怕排水不順利，就回家拿了工具，來清理水溝，自動自發的精神，令人佩服，發文一出，引來近8萬名網友按讚，紛紛給這名小弟弟鼓勵。

“那時候很多樹葉積住，然後水會流不過去，就有可能會淹水，大家都在忙，我就剛好有時間，我就看不過去，就回家拿工具來把它清乾淨”
小小年紀就主動協助清理家園，有網友留言大讚，未來如果選里長一定投給他，小孩教育的很成功，真是懂事的好孩子。但面對大家的讚美，吳同學認為，只是做了該做的事情。

“他們在務農因為這水溝都要灌溉，他們習慣性看到水溝有雜物的時候，他們會下去清理。就是小孩子自動自發的精神，可能比較鼓勵人吧”
吳同學家中務農，平時他就習慣主動幫忙，非常孝順，他就讀的西港國中，校方得知消息，也相當感動。

吳同學平時熱心、有禮貌，這次在颱風過後，主動清理農田溝渠，小小舉動特別暖心，校方也將在開學後，給予表揚。
