Painting studios increasingly popular for adults to de-stress
Modern life can be very stressful. But many find creating art to be helpful for relieving some of that pressure. At a painting studio in Keelung, not only children come to draw, but people who are working and even some who have retired come, too. With a brush in hand, they create something original, a type of therapy for their body and mind. Going to an art studio after work has become a trend amid the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Brush in hand, each point and line are carefully placed, creating beauty on the canvas stroke by stroke.
On this round, black canvas, colors and lines twine together to realize a geometric, mandala-style pattern. Children and adults alike come to this painting studio in Keelung, using their time off to create something beautiful and relax.

There has definitely been an increased demand for art therapy after the pandemic. During the pandemic, we mostly held online classes, but starting last year, in-person classes became more popular. Everyone has a dream of wanting to be creative or create something. We may think we don’t know how to paint, but mandala-style art is actually very simple.
Mandala art is different from traditional art. Starting from a center point, it radiates outward in a circular pattern with repeating lines and images. The repetitive drawing process settles the heart, helping people to relax and unwind. The teachers here emphasize that this style does not rely on artistic talent. Even those with no basic painting skills can still create a beautiful work of art.

Before, people tended to think that only children can study art. But because the pace of life nowadays is quite fast and everyone feels more stressed, many adults also need a place to unwind and have some personal time to really relax. So painting is a really good hobby.

At first it was a way to kill time, because my kids had grown up and I didn’t know where the center of my life was. After picking up painting, you discover that your life is not quite the same. You understand how to appreciate beautiful things.
The painting studio is a place for people to relax and unwind. For those looking for a new hobby amid their busy modern life, why not give it a try.
