Taiwan Julliard Alumni Association holds concerts inspired by Astor Piazzolla

The Taiwan Juilliard Alumni Association is presenting a series of summer concerts featuring a lineup of Juilliard professors and alumni. Themed around Astor Piazzolla’s "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires," the program not only highlights global classical masterpieces but also weaves in the rich sounds of Taiwanese folk melodies. FTV reporter Stephany Yang gives us the highlights.
The “Four Seasons Musical Journey” brings together professors and alumni from The Juilliard School to perform global classics themed around Astor Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.” The program includes a performance by current Juilliard faculty member Joseph Lin playing Piazzolla’s work.

Thirty of us from Juilliard — professors and alumni — are coming together for a performance. Our program this time is incredible. Since we have many pianists, we’ve arranged three pieces for three pianos, including works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and the American composer Leonard Bernstein, as well as the French composer Charles Camille Saint-Saëns."
The Four Seasons Musical Journey is a part of the 2025 Juilliard Alumni Summit, organized by the Taiwan Juilliard Alumni Association. Aside from global classics, Taiwanese folk music will also be a highlight.

There are also two very special pieces that we commissioned specifically for this concert. One of them is by Sean Jackson. He’s an organist, and for the performance at Weiwuying, he will present a special arrangement of well-known Taiwanese folk songs. He combined three Taiwanese folk melodies into a single composition.
The concerts will be held on August 18 at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, August 19 at the National Taichung Theater, and on August 20 at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts-Weiwuying.

美國茱莉亞音樂院舉辦《遨遊四季‧心靈饗宴》音樂會，邀請茱莉亞音樂院教授及多位校友攜手演出，獻上多首世界經典名曲以及台灣民謠。
《遨遊四季‧心靈饗宴》音樂會邀集茱莉亞音樂學院的教授和校友攜手演出，以音樂家皮耶佐拉「布宜諾斯艾利斯的四季」為主軸，由現任茱莉亞學院教員林以信領銜演出，演繹全球經典曲目。

"我們茱莉亞30位教授跟畢業的校友們一起聯合演出，我們這次的曲目非常的豐富，因為我們鋼琴人很多，所以安排了三首三鋼琴曲目，有Sergei Rachmaninoff， 也有Leonard Bernstein美國的，另外我們有法國的Charles Camille Saint-Saëns."
2025年盛大的茱莉亞校友高峰會登場，由台灣茱莉亞校友會主辦《遨遊四季‧心靈饗宴》音樂會，除了演譯全球經典曲目之外，另一個亮點則是台灣民謠。

“還有兩首非常特別的曲子是我們委託創作，為了這次的音樂會特別寫的曲子。一首詩我們台灣女婿尚傑生，他是一個管風琴家，他在衛武營那一場會特別演出台灣名謠，他用了三首的台灣民謠結合在一起，做一個曲目"
《遨遊四季‧心靈饗宴》音樂會將於8月18日至20日，於台北國家音樂廳、台中國家歌劇院、高雄衛武營展開巡演。
