Former KMT Chair’s attendance in China’s Victory Day parade draws criticism back home

As worldwide travel surges in the post-pandemic era, airlines are looking to expand their routes and break into different markets. The woman in green is former KMT Chair Hung Hsiu-chu. She’s seated at the second row in the area designated for Beijing’s leadership at China’s 80th Victory Day military parade in Tiananmen Square.
Right in front of Hung is former Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan. Hung isn’t the only high-profile Taiwanese to attend the highly controversial event. There’s also National Taiwan University Professor of Philosophy Yuann Jeu-jeng, who bumped into Hung the day before while he was being interviewed at the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Yuann appeared delighted by the encounter and posed for pictures with Hung.
Hung was described as “the KMT representative” by Chinese state media CCTV. However, the KMT leadership back home emphasized that Hung is no longer a party official, and also refuted Beijing’s rhetoric on the war.

China is in fact willing to exhaust its arsenal and has complete disregard for sabotaging peace. Heading to China and standing above Tiananmen Square is a kind of a throwback to Lien Chan’s attendance 10 years ago.
Back when Hung was the KMT chair, she criticized her predecessor and ex-Premier Lien Chan for attending Beijing’s military parade and said the action hurts the feelings of people in Taiwan. Ten years later, she seems to have completely changed her view on the issue.

國民黨前主席洪秀柱出席「中共九三閱兵」，中國官媒央視也特別用"國民黨代表"來介紹洪秀柱，不過國民黨先前裁定調，洪秀柱是黨外人士，不能代表現在的國民黨，讓國民黨立場陷入尷尬，綠營就大酸，沒有去勸中國放棄武力威脅台灣，反而去幫忙站台，若想要紀念抗戰烈士，去忠烈祠就可以了。
中共九三大閱兵，前國民黨主席洪秀柱，被捕捉身穿一襲綠色唐裝現身，縮下巴正襟危坐，位置就被安排在天安門城樓的貴賓席上。
跟洪秀柱坐在同區的，有中國前國家副主席王岐山。而前一天，同樣也來參加大閱兵的台大哲學系教授苑舉正，與洪秀柱在盧溝橋抗日紀念館巧遇，開心合影還自稱是烈士。
洪秀柱赴中觀禮閱兵，中國官媒央視更聲稱，洪秀柱是國民黨代表，這讓切割洪秀柱是前黨務人士的國民黨，格外尷尬。

十年前，洪秀柱批評連戰赴中觀禮閱兵，是傷害國人情感，現在自己卻成了中共閱兵的座上賓。
