Minimum wage to go up by 3.2% to NT$29,500 starting 2026

Taiwan’s minimum wage is officially set to go up starting next year. From Jan. 1, the basic pay will go up by 3.18%, benefitting more than 2 million workers. The decision came after a 4-hour negotiation between the government and labor and industry representatives, and marks the 10th year in a row that the basic wage gets a hike.

Currently, the minimum monthly salary is NT$28,590, and the minimum hourly rate is NT$160. The two figures will go up to NT$29,500 and NT$196, respectively. Over the past 10 years, the monthly wage has increased by 47.4%, while the hourly wage has increased at an even faster rate of 63.3%.

最低工資確定要連10漲了,今天的最低工資審議委員會、經過勞資雙方近4小時的拉鋸,最後拍板,明年元旦開始,調漲3.18%,影響超過200萬勞工。

月薪從28,590元,調整到29,500元,時薪從190元調到196元,影響超過200萬勞工。從2016年起算,10年下來,月薪調幅達到47.4%,時薪更高,調幅達63.3%。
