Taipei’s metro system is one of the quietest and cleanest in the world. But recently, videos of a few rowdy passengers have been circulating on social media. In one, an elderly man breaks out in dance with a beer bottle in hand. In another, three young men use the handrail as a pull-up bar, competing with each other. While some people say this behavior is a nuisance, others say it’s harmless and common in other countries.
His right hand firmly gripping the handle as his left grasps a beer bottle, this man dances like no one is watching. A rare sight on Taipei’s usually quiet MRT, passengers took out their phones to record this dancing grandpa.

It’s normal. This happens all the time in Europe.
But it is illegal to drink alcohol on the subway, and making such big movements while drinking could certainly influence other passengers’ safety. This is not the only odd behavior reported on the Taipei MRT recently.
One passenger saw three young men using the handrail as a pullup bar and immediately notified MRT staff.

In other countries people wouldn’t think twice about it, so he thought it would be fine in Taiwan. But actually, people think this behavior is strange and really bothers others.
The Taipei Metro reminded people that there are intercoms next to the doors in every subway car, so they can notify MRT staff right away if needed. After all, the subway shouldn’t be treated as a gym or dance studio.

一名網友在搭乘台北捷運時，看到三名男子將車廂內的掛吊環鐵桿當作單槓使用，甚至進行轉圈比賽，抱怨通報北捷沒處理。事件也在網路上引起熱烈討論，有網友認為不尊重公共空間規範，但也有人認為無傷大雅。還有人拍到阿伯拎著啤酒罐再車廂跳舞，甚至高舉腳到頭頂，影片也在網路瘋傳。
右手緊握拉環，左手拎著一瓶啤酒，不顧眾人目光悠然起舞。這名被網友戲稱"筋骨軟Q的阿伯"，吸引捷運乘客拿起相機猛拍。

不過車廂內禁止飲酒，如果乘客邊喝酒邊做出危險動作，更可能影響到他人安全，根據北捷規定，可以拒絕運送，但類似狀況，可不只一件！
網友上車後看見三名男子抓著把手當做單槓吊，馬上通報捷運。

“在國外是人家就不會覺得怎樣，所以他在台灣就覺得沒怎樣，但其實人家覺得，有這樣的動作是很奇怪的，然後覺得很打擾人家。”
北捷提醒，每節車廂門旁邊都設有對講機，乘客可以即時通知行控中心或行車專員處理，畢竟把捷運車廂不該被當成健身房或練舞室。
