Unique Wanli building designed to naturally regulate temperature

Traveling around New Taipei’s Wanli District, you might stumble across a strange white structure that resembles a peanut or an anthill. Called the DoGood House, it not only looks unique, but is also Taiwan’s only green building to have a usage license. It utilizes wind tunnels to eliminate the need for AC while also staying warm in winter. By also incorporating artwork and local fishing culture, the park has become a new tourist destination for Wanli.
When viewed from above, this irregular white structure resembles a peanut, or maybe an anthill when viewed from the side. But aside from its strange shape, this “DoGood House” in New Taipei’s Wanli has the unique distinction of being Taiwan’s only green structure to receive a usage permit.
The design utilizes a peculiar shape and thick walls with wind tunnels running throughout to naturally cool the hot wind from outside. Even without air conditioning, the building stays cool in summer and warm in winter.

Hot air rises and cool air falls. This physical principle of circulation is used to maintain a 3-to-5-degree difference in temperature between the inside and the outside.
Aside from the green building, the park also has outdoor leisure space with a large chameleon structure created by artist Liu Ting-tsan. Made from steel, it gives the park an artistic flair. There are also red and blue crabs scrabbling up the wall made of steel and stone to represent Wanli’s famous crab industry.

We’re the largest licensed farm in New Taipei City. We want to make a place where kids can come play. It combines tourism with ecological and other kinds of education, including local foods and metal sculptures.
Stir-fried with chili and Sichuan peppers, and topped with a spicy sauce, this fragrant squid and fishcake dish is also a must-have. The park is making use of new innovations combined with nature, art, and local food to create a place for everyone to come and relax, injecting new life into Wanli’s tourism industry.

新北萬里觀光新亮點 綠建築"渡咕屋"冬暖夏涼

新北萬里出現一棟造型奇特的白色建築，正面像花生、側面像螞蟻窩，這棟名為「渡咕屋」的建築，不但外型特別，更是全台唯一，取得使用執照的合法綠建築，利用物理風洞結構，不裝冷氣也能冬暖夏涼，另外，更搭配藝術裝置與在地農漁特色，打造出萬里嶄新的觀光亮點。
從空拍俯瞰，這座白色建築物，外型凹凸不平，正面看像花生，側面又像螞蟻窩，相當吸睛，但可別看它造型奇特，這座位在新北萬里的「渡咕屋」，可是目前唯一一座，取得使用執照的綠建築。
建築設計運用特殊外型，及厚牆結構，結合物理風洞原理，自然形成空氣對流，將戶外熱風轉化為涼風，即使不開冷氣，也能維持冬暖夏涼的節能效果。

園區內，除了綠建築，還打造農業休閒空間，一旁簍空的巨型變色龍，是知名藝術家劉丁讚的創作，使用鋼筋打造，為園區添加藝術感，而白牆上的紅藍色螃蟹，則以鋼筋與石材製成，象徵萬里知名的海產特色〝萬里蟹〞。

辣椒與花椒大火快炒，淋上特調辣醬，再倒進小卷和天婦羅，香氣撲鼻，當然少不了這一味「山海美食」。園區推陳出新，融合生態、藝術與在地美食，不僅打造出適合全齡休閒空間，更為萬里注入不同的旅遊新風貌。
