Dozens affected as VietJet Air cancels 16 flights to Phu Quoc

Concerns are mounting among travelers who’ve purchased tickets to Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island with VietJet Air. Among them is Ms. Su, who booked a flight for Jan. 14, which was later postponed to Jan. 18 without a notification. Now, the airline says 16 flights will be cancelled between January and March, and now Ms. Su is worried about her trip. Let’s hear from her.

I haven’t yet received any notification on whether the flight has been brought back to the original schedule or whether there are any additional arrangements. The only low-cost carrier that operates direct flights is VietJet Air, basically. Over the past one or two weeks, prices have stayed between NT$3,000 and NT$4,000. For Starlux, an economy ticket is more than NT$10,000. That’s almost four times the prize of the budget airline.

It’s mostly affecting group travelers. So far, the passengers who’ve inquired have not had their flights get canceled. If cancelations do occur, we will assist with the relevant arrangements.
Several travel agencies have been affected by the schedule changes and cancelations. Chan Sheng Travel says it had to switch airlines for 60 passengers. Uni Travel says five tour groups made up of 80 travelers were affected. One group switched airlines, while the other four were canceled. Lion Travel says at least 150 passengers have been affected.

旅客蘇小姐日前在訂票平台買了越捷航空，14號飛富國島機票，卻無預警被延期到18號，結果越捷又發布因市場變化和商業考量，1月到3月總共16航班，桃園往返富國島全數取消，讓她擔心會受到影響。

“到今天為止我都還沒有接受到，航班已經調回原本的，或者是說其他的相關的一些配套措施。直飛的就像我剛說的，如果說是你要看廉航的話基本上就只剩越捷，那它的價格這一兩週我看下來，基本上是三千多到四千左右。星宇的話基本上一張票，經濟艙就是一萬多塊。就是同等於是廉航這樣算四倍吧

“主要還是以團體旅客的一個影響比較多一點，目前詢問的旅客他們的航班都還沒有取消，那如果真的有取消的狀況，我們會協助就是旅客去做相關的辦理。”
越捷班機相繼延期取消，不少旅行社也遭殃，像是展笙旅行社影響約60人，需提早換航空公司；旅天下則是5團約80人，其中一團更換航空、另外4團取消，雄獅則有至少150人行程受影響。
