A scene from a temple in the mountains of Miaoli left netizens equally perplexed and delighted. It was an owl quietly perched on a statue of Mazu, behind glass panels. Apart from slowly moving its gaze to follow a camera’s movement, the bird would stay still on top of Mazu for hours. A temple official said that there has to be a divine connection between the owl and the sea goddess.

An owl perches on Mazu’s headwear, seemingly not to move an inch, except shifting its gaze to follow the camera lens. The footage quickly went viral.

Netizens say the owl looks like it belongs with the rest of Mazu’s ensemble. Meanwhile, Mazu’s serene expression makes it seem as if it’s more than welcome there.

The owl appeared at a temple on Lion’s Head Mountain, in Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli. But how did it get there in the first place, since the Mazu statue is surrounded by glass panels? A temple official believes it must have gotten in through a crack on the side.

It could fly all the way here and perch on Mazu’s headwear proves that it’s divinely connected with Mazu.

The owl remained in the same position for several hours. According to the temple, whether in folk religion or Buddhist belief, animals are considered divine beings, making this scene all the more special.

苗栗南庄鄉一間廟宇，近日出現奇特景象，一隻貓頭鷹闖入廟內，甚至還飛進媽祖殿內，站立在媽祖頭冠上，眼神還會跟著鏡頭轉動，讓不少人直呼太有靈性。

貓頭鷹站立在媽祖頭冠上，一動也不動，歪頭直直盯著鏡頭，鏡頭到哪，眼神就到哪，奇特畫面，被捕捉下，讓網友直呼太萌了。

其他網友也留言，看起來毫無違和感，媽祖看起來很慈祥，還有人開玩笑說，誰准你站在那邊。

貓頭鷹被捕捉到的地點，在苗栗南庄鄉獅頭山一處廟宇，仔細看媽祖神像前方，設有一層透明玻璃，不少人好奇，貓頭鷹到底怎麼飛進去的?廟方研判，貓頭鷹應該是從側邊的縫隙飛入，種種巧合，廟方人員嘖嘖稱奇。

“牠能夠飛到這裡面來，而且飛在這個媽祖頭冠上面，有牠特殊的因緣，牠跟媽祖也有緣。”

這隻貓頭鷹，停留時間已經長達數小時，廟方說從民間信仰與佛門角度，都屬於"有靈性"的眾生，奇特景象，掀起熱議。

But this Texas political star was actually born in a cramped 28-square-meter apartment in Shilin that housed seven people.

Some adorable cats and dogs have an unparalleled therapeutic power. Many hospitals are offering therapy dog services, especially for palliative care, allowing patients with terminal illness to interact with the animals and achieve relaxation of the mind and body. The Hsin-Ning Palliative Care Ward at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and they’ve invited all the wards’ therapy dogs and even cats to join the festivities.

When this doctor comes to the hospice ward to make the rounds, a therapy dog known as “Big Brother” is often by her side. This dog often spends time with patients and families. Big Brother is an important member of the hospice care team at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital. And there’s not just dogs, but also cats.

Harper has served for about five years now. It’s strange, but cats can calm people down and make them feel at ease. So sometimes when we are providing services, the person might not be feeling well or doesn’t want to deal with the outside world, and the cat can offer them a lot of comfort.

Harper, a Ragdoll cat, has served in the hospice ward for five years, helping patients to be in a calm mood. What seems like a simple act of companionship actually requires professional training and certification.

For example, being touched, waiting patiently for long periods, or being given something it might need to spit out—it will do so without hesitation. And it’s not afraid of things like wheelchairs or crutches.

Big Brother, who this year is almost three years old, has a stable personality. Meanwhile, these two Chihuahuas are also quiet and well behaved. They are also professional therapy dogs. Once a month, there is a session to interact with therapy dogs and cats at the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital.

There was an older man. After he was admitted to the Hsin-Ning Palliative Care ward, he really didn’t like getting out of bed or walking. But when we asked him if he’d like to take the dog for a walk, he immediately picked up the leash and said: “Yes, yes!”

She was in bed and the therapy dog ran straight to her and kept licking her. She was so touched that she cried. She said the last time it was with her, it was only five minutes, so how did it remember her? Even at the end of life, patients experience the same sense of self as they did in the past.

The company is targeting the booming luxury sports car market on the island. The Amalfi is an entry level starter car for those wanting to get their feet wet before climbing the luxury ladder. Let’s take a look.

A new Ferrari supercar featuring the brand’s iconic red paintjob is making its debut. It is powered by a 3,855 cc twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing horsepower of up to 640 hp and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

The interior of this model has been upgraded, with the dashboard extending all the way to the doors on both sides, giving it an immersive cockpit experience. The steering wheel has a welcome return to old-style push buttons on it, giving it a more thrilling sports car driving feel.

Kids trapped on raft in amusement park, use Signal for Help

Today we’ll show you a hand gesture that can potentially save your life. Two kids riding a raft got stuck when they were passing through a tunnel in a Kaohsiung amusement park. They frantically gestured for help, and help arrived just five minutes later when a staff member saw the gesture. It turned out the kids were using the Signal for Help gesture created by the Canadian Women’s Foundation amid a sharp rise of domestic violence during the COVID lockdowns. This incident has made more people aware of this useful hand gesture.

Two boys were riding a raft and got stuck in a tunnel. They waved frantically but no one noticed. One boy in a raincoat raised an arm and made the Signal for Help gesture when someone seemed to finally take note. When another raft suddenly came, they began yelling.

The kids were stuck in the tunnel and gestured for help, but passers-by didn’t seem to understand that they were signaling for help, keeping them there for about five minutes before a staff member took note.

Our colleague immediate put on a wetsuit and pushed the raft out manually, and the raft was finally unstuck. Our first impression is that this resulted from unbalanced weight distribution. There were water jets spraying at the kids, and they got a fright from that and rushed to one end of the raft, and so it tilted and one of the side wheels got stuck.

The park stated that the rafts are propelled by water flow. The wheel-like structures on the side are there to prevent collisions. The raft seemed to have tilted and got stuck due to unbalanced weight distribution.

As for the Signal for Help hand gesture used by the kids, it was created by the Canadian Women’s Foundation for victims of domestic violence during the COVID pandemic, so that they can signal for help via videoconferencing during lockdown without attracting the abuser’s attention.

Anytime a visitor doesn’t want to ride a raft anymore for any reason, they can raise their arms and gesture, and our staff will let them off once they’ve noticed.

Thankfully, the raft itself isn’t very dangerous to begin with, and was only stuck briefly. The kids also taught everyone a useful gesture for asking help.

Deputy KMT chair to lead delegation to Beijing for think tank exchanges

Deputy KMT chair Hsiao Hsu-tsen and the deputy chair of the KMT’s National Policy Foundation Lee Hong-yuan, have announced that they will lead a delegation to Beijing next month for a forum involving exchanges with CCP officials. They say that their visit will not involve politics and that the forum will be hosted by think tanks affiliated with the two political parties.
