
As a way of promoting creative marketing along with the ceramic arts, the Kinmen Ceramics Factory collaborated with a liquor company to produce a fire hydrant-shaped bottle, meant to convey that “extinguishing” anger calms the mind. The factory manager said he got the idea because he used to be a firefighter. Not only that, but fire hydrants also have an uninterrupted supply of water. As water symbolizes wealth, it signifies hope for a boundless flow of prosperity.
Bottles of all shapes and sizes stand at attention in display cabinets. But hold on, why is this one here? Fire hydrants are supposed to be outside. This is actually a liquor bottle specially designed by the Kinmen Ceramics Factory.

We wanted to make a liquor bottle customized for a profession. Since I used to be a firefighter, we thought about how a firefighter might design a bottle. Fire hydrants play a crucial role in neighborhood safety by ensuring a continuous supply of water.
Looking to promote creative marketing along with the ceramic arts, the Kinmen Ceramics Factory designed this special liquor bottle shaped like a fire hydrant. The manager said the production team hopes that every product can convey a story and a feeling, beyond just functioning as a container. The factory has been producing more creative products in recent years, hoping they will get more use in people’s daily lives to showcase the charm of Kinmen craftsmanship in the home.

We plan to release another two products this year. One of them will be a tetrapod. Tetrapods brake waves to keep the shore peaceful. It also has another meaning. Since it resembles a rice dumpling, we plan to release it for Dragon Boat Festival. The other one is for Mid-Autumn Festival. We’ll release a moon cake bottle. We’re still developing both and negotiating with the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor company.
Apart from making uniquely shaped liquor bottles, the factory said it plans to keep pushing creative boundaries by integrating Kinmen’s cultural heritage, lifestyles, and diverse aesthetics to develop ceramics rich in narrative and cultural value.

金門陶瓷廠為了推動文化創意與陶瓷工藝結合,特別跨界和酒廠合作,推出消防栓造型酒,象徵消火氣、除煩惱。陶瓷廠廠長說,會決定以消防栓為造型,除了自己以前當過消防員外,消防栓在安全上,也代表水源的源源不絕,而水也代表財富,希望財富源源不絕。
各式各樣花色、造型的酒瓶,井然有序的陳列在櫃子上,但應該在戶外的消防栓,怎麼也在這,原來這是今年金門陶瓷廠推出的造型酒。

“我們是要做一支,比較用職業客製化的一個酒瓶,因為以前是消防的,所以我們想說由消防的職業的立場,來看到酒瓶的思維,消防栓在地方的安全,是有一個很重要的一個角色,就是水源的源源不絕”
為了推動文化創意與陶瓷工藝結合的成果,金門陶瓷廠特別推出全新設計的消防栓造型主題酒,廠長說,製作團隊希望每一項產品都能傳遞故事與溫度,而不是只是個容器,另外他也表示,陶瓷廠近年積極發展文創商品,希望讓陶瓷走入生活、融入日常,以更貼近大眾的方式展現金門工藝的魅力。

“我們預計今年會再出兩款,那一個就是消波塊,消波塊是波平浪靜保平安,因為消波塊也是另外一種含義,是肉粽,我們在端午節會推出,那另外一款就是中秋節,會推出月餅的酒瓶,那都在研發,也在跟金酒申請中”
除了跨界推出造型酒,金門陶瓷廠也說,未來將持續推動工藝創新,結合金門文化、生活題材與多元設計元素,開發更多具有故事性與文化價值的陶瓷作品。
