Taichung bus driver helps four passengers in wheelchairs

While Taichung’s buses are certainly not known for their punctuality, sometimes the drivers have a good reason for being late. When four passengers in wheelchairs were boarding a bus at once, the compassionate driver helped them one by one. Although it made the bus late for its next stop, passengers praised the driver’s kindness and consideration.

Four people in wheelchairs were getting on a bus at the same stop. Before picking them up, the bus driver let other passengers know the situation.

- I’m very sorry, but because there are people in wheelchairs who need the driver’s assistance, it may hold us up for about five minutes.

The driver helps push the wheelchairs onto the bus one at a time. Two were able to get into seats and store their chairs, while two others settled in the wheelchair area. Thanks to the driver’s help, they all found a comfortable spot on board.

The other two couldn’t get up, so they stopped in this area.

When they reached their stop, the driver helped them safely get off the bus, making sure they had a smooth journey. Now 47 years old, Chan Chih-kai has been driving buses for 21 years. He’s always had a passion and enthusiasm for service.

Because people with disabilities face many difficulties when going out, they’re always worrying about something. So, I encourage them to be brave and go out.

Assisting these four passengers delayed the bus by about five minutes, so how can they make up the time?

We have to shorten our own rest time, giving that time to the passengers. For example, spend less time using the restroom.

Mr. Chan has won four Golden Driver Awards and even hosted the awards ceremony, showing his talent for spreading joy and compassion.

暖心! 4輪椅民眾同時搭公車 台中司機下車協助

雖然台中市公車的準點度,有時被詬病是"玄學",不過,或許誤點也是有故事!台中有位暖心駕駛,發現有4位坐輪椅的身障民眾,要一同搭公車,駕駛不嫌麻煩,先是廣播取得其他乘客的諒解,再服務4位身障者,逐一上車,雖然影響發車時間,但是也獲得乘客的好評!

四位坐著輪椅的身障民眾,要在同一站上車,司機詹智凱在停車載他們之前,先對車內廣播。

“非常抱歉,因為有身障輪椅,需要司機的協助幫忙,可能會耽誤到各位旅客,五分鐘的時間”

推上去一位,再推下一位,四輛輪椅連同乘客,都上了車,接下來,有兩位乘客,人靠攙扶就能上座,另外兩位,得連人帶車待在輪椅區,就靠詹智凱把人、輪椅都安頓好。

到站了,詹智凱又讓四人連輪椅,安全的下了車,這四位好朋友,相約出去玩的旅程,有了順利的好開頭。47歲詹智凱,開公車資歷已經21年,一直本於初心,秉持服務的熱誠。

協助4位乘客,起碼需要延後發車5分鐘,接下來公車要如何不誤點?
