Bus driver stops to help collapsed elderly man on scorching hot day

Earlier this month a bus driver spotted an elderly man collapsing onto a traffic island near the Guiren Interchange in Tainan. With passengers’ permission, he did not hesitate to stop the bus and get the man help. The bus driver put up a warning triangle and a parasol for the elderly man, and stayed with him until an ambulance arrived. Passengers were touched by his act of kindness.
A scooter lies strewn on the innermost lane. Beside it, a man had collapsed onto the traffic island. A bus driver stops immediately seeing this.
He walks to the back to fetch a warning triangle, and places it behind the scooter. He then returns to the bus for a parasol. A passer-by asks what’s happening.
The bus driver holds up the parasol for the man, until an ambulance arrives 20 minutes later.

I saw an elderly man lying motionless on the traffic island. I thought I’d have to get off and help him. It was so hot past midday. I was afraid he’d get sunburned. He seemed to have broken his legs, too.
The accident occurred on a surface road near the Guiren Interchange in Tainan. The scooter driver appeared to have collapsed spontaneously due to physical discomfort. By the time the bus driver had approached him, there were already a car and two scooters stopping for him and calling the police for help.

The bus driver, surnamed Hsieh, helped by placing warning signs to prevent a secondary accident. He also held a parasol for the injured under the scorching sun, and only left when paramedics arrived, demonstrating his spirit of altruism.
At the time, Hsieh only had one passenger. He’d obtained her permission before stopping to help.

It’s still a precious human life, so I asked her if I could get off to help, and she said yes.

I thought it was really kind of him to help someone in need. I think he did a great thing.
The passenger not only didn’t mind that her trip was delayed, she even called the bus operator later to put a good word in for Hsieh. According to Hsieh’s employer, last year, he was honored by the Highway Bureau as an excellent driver, meaning he’s always been a thoughtful driver. This time, the bus company said that it will award Hsieh for his good deed.

台南翁疑不適自撞分隔島 熱心公車司機停車救援

台南一名老先生騎車行經歸仁交流道附近時，疑似身體不適，撞上中央分隔島，整個人趴在分隔島上，當時正值下午一點多，太陽很大，一輛大台南公車經過，司機見狀，立即取得車上乘客同意後，拿著三角警示牌和雨傘下車協助遮陽，等到救護車來才離開，暖心舉動，讓乘客十分感動。
大馬路內側車道上，橫倒著一輛機車，分隔島上還趴著一個人。開公車經過看到這一幕，司機立馬停車。
司機走到後頭拿了三角警示牌，下車走到事故機車後方放置，又再回到車上拿雨傘，這時也有其他熱心民眾來詢問。
司機替傷者撐傘遮陽，直到二十分鐘後救護車抵達才離開。

“就看到分隔島那裡，一個老人就躺在那裡，動也不動，我就想說趕快下去幫忙，中午的時候太熱，怕他會曬傷啊，就好像腿也斷了”
這起車禍發生在台南歸仁交流道附近的平面道路，騎士疑似身體不適自摔，司機公車停下車來協助時，其實旁邊已經有一輛轎車和兩部機車的駕駛都已經發現到了，都在報警。

當時公車上只有一名乘客，司機下車前有先取得乘客的同意。

這名乘客不但不計較時間被拖延，事後還打電話向客運公司反應，要求表揚這名司機，客運公司表示，謝仁德去年度還被公路局選為「優良駕駛當選人」，平常表現就很優異，這次熱心助人，也決定會給予實質上的獎勵。
