More than 41,000 daily cases of COVID reported Sunday, with the 6th MIS-C case to date

Forty-one thousand four hundred and eighty-four local cases of COVID were reported Sunday. That’s 3,000 cases fewer than last Sunday, or a drop of 6.7%. The day’s COVID-related death toll stood at 65. Among the moderate to severe cases was a teenage girl with the Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children or MIS-C, the sixth in her age group to date.

The most prevalent subvariant in Taiwan is still BA.5. However, this wave of the Omicron variant has been going around for quite a while, and many new subvariants have come to the fore. In the U.K., the BQ.1 amounts to 8% of COVID cases. In the U.S., the BF.7 and the BA.2.75 have been found in 7% and 5% of cases, respectively.

COVID-19本土疫情週日新增41484例,較上週日減少近3000例,降幅約6.7%。死亡有65例,中重症則出現青少年第6例MIS-C個案。

目前台灣主流變異株為BA.5,但這波OMICRON流行太久,國外已經出現許多亞型變異株,英國病毒監測,已經出現BQ.1占8%,BF.7和BA.2.75分別占7%和5%,美國BA.4.6已經悄悄來到12.2%。
