Taekwondo practitioners clinch two silvers at Asian Games

Turning now to the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Team Taiwan added two silver medals on Tuesday, both in taekwondo. One was from Olympic bronze medalist Lo Chia-ling in the women’s under-57 kilogram event. Speaking after the match, Lo fought back tears and expressed regret over missing the gold medal. But she vowed to push herself even harder at upcoming competitions. Taiwan’s second silver was from Lin Wei-chun, who was making her Asian Games debut.

We had worked very hard to try and win a gold medal, but in the end, we failed to achieve that. It is a real pity. But I need to refocus. I feel regret, but I will turn it into motivation to work harder for other competitions.

There was a bit of a difference in her strength and her opponent’s. That’s something she’ll need to work on in the future.
Lo plans to stay in China for training before the Taiyuan World Taekwondo Grand Prix in October, where she hopes to win qualification points for the Paris Olympics.
Over in the under-53 category, Lin Wei-chun also made it to the final. Lin’s mother, Liu Chao-ching, is also a taekwondo athlete, who won gold at the World Games and Asian Championship.

In the first round against my South Korean opponent, her movements were very fast, so I was quite nervous. Although I was in the lead at the beginning, I got a bit careless in the last few seconds. Had I put on a better defense in the first round, I think the gold medal would’ve been mine.
In her post-finals interview, Lin spoke with regret about her defeat. Toward the end of the first round, Lin was in the lead 6-5. But a roundhouse kick from her opponent just before the buzzer turned the score to 7-6, forcing Lin to settle for silver.

Her opponent got points in the last three seconds. She completely overlooked that kick. It’s a pity.
Though Lin missed out on gold, she still secured silver for Taiwan, marking a good start in her taekwondo career.

羅嘉翎收起淚水備戰奧運 林唯均亞運初次登板就奪牌

亞運女子跆拳道羅嘉翎和林唯均，週二為台灣再添兩面銀牌，賽後羅嘉翎收起淚水，表示要在更高層級的奧運舞台討回顏面，而出身跆拳世家的林唯均，首次出戰亞運就抱回銀牌，未來的跆拳道生涯值得期待。
在東京奧運拿下銅牌的羅嘉翎，這次在亞運57公斤級拿下銀牌，讓她淚灑賽場，賽後她收起不甘心的淚水，放眼更高層級的舞台。

“我們也已經很努力地想要去爭奪這面金牌，最終還是沒能達成目標，其實很遺憾，但是就是轉個念，自己帶有一點遺憾，然後去為之後更多的比賽，去做更多的努力”
羅嘉翎這次來到杭州，父母也親自到場在第一線為她加油。

羅嘉翎接下來將會留在中國進行移地訓練，瞄準10月份的太原跆拳道大獎賽，為進軍巴黎奧運爭取更多積分。
另一位挺金牌戰的林唯均，出身跆拳道世家，母親劉昭晴是跆拳道世錦賽和亞錦賽金牌得主。

“第一回合跟韓國打，她移動比較靈活，所以也蠻緊張的，比數一開始有領先，但是後面幾秒有點大意，如果第一回合防守有做好的話，應該會金牌”
林唯均一句應該會金牌，道出決賽落敗的遺憾，畢竟第一回合原有機會以六比五拿下，卻被對手壓哨迴旋踢得手，以六比七讓出，成為失金關鍵。

林唯均雖然無緣金牌，但首次出戰亞運就抱回銀牌，未來的跆拳道生涯值得期待。
