
To serve the growing number of transfer passengers, Taoyuan International Airport has upgraded its transfer signs, routes, and catering services. FTV reporter Stephany Yang has the details.
Taoyuan International Airport has updated its food services to handle an influx in passengers. There is a "Grab&Go Takeaway Area," providing takeaway boxed meals such as French Herb Chicken Breast and Indian Cumin Beef. There’s also a fast checkout counter and a self-service ordering machine that provides a one-stop “drive-thru.”
There are also a variety of Taiwanese delicacies such as Michelin-starred meals and the restaurant “Smart Fish,” which was featured on Netflix. There is also a prayer room for travelers.

Oh, it was wonderful. This is a wonderful airport. It is a nice little airport. It is actually beautiful. I really enjoy the prayer room down there. It is very accommodating for a traveler.I have been here for about seven hours now. I walked all around. There are a lot of shops. There are a lot of shops here.

Terminal 2 has a new food court with a street food area next to the boarding gate of C3. The food area offers some of Taiwan’s special local delicacies.
Many travelers were impressed by the airport’s new transfer signs. A new addition is a green wall that shows passengers where to transfer.

In the past, the fonts displayed were relatively small. In the first half of this year, Taoyuan International Airport made larger signs. This is very helpful for transiting passengers, and now we can just say, “Head toward the green sign.”
Taoyuan International Airport hosted 35.35 million passengers last year, reaching 73% of pre-pandemic levels. It’s also seen strong growth in transfer passengers. The airport had a record 6.25 million transfers last year, an increase of 17.5% compared to 2019, which was before the pandemic.

Most of the passengers transferring in Taipei are from Southeast Asia. Travelers from Southeast Asia fly to North America or Europe through Taiwan, accounting for 60% of the total travelers. Taking China Airlines as an example, we transport approximately 2,000 transfer passengers to various destinations in Southeast Asia every morning. The afternoon wave in Europe is also about 2,000 passengers, who are traveling North American and European routes.
The airport offers a one-stop security inspection service to save transfer time.

The current security regulations in the United States are stricter than those at Taoyuan International Airport. When these passengers come to Taiwan, they do not need to undergo a special plane security inspection in Taiwan.
With travelers hungry for travel, Taoyuan International Airport hopes to continue to upgrade its facilities and services to cater to the needs of its travelers.

因應旅運量翻倍回升,桃園國際機場升級餐飲服務,推出 「Grab&Go外帶區」,提供法式香草雞胸肉、印度孜然牛肉等外帶餐盒,設置快速結帳櫃檯、自助點餐機,提供點餐、結帳一條龍的「得來速」服務。
米其林星級餐點、曾登上 Netflix紀錄片的嘉義沙鍋魚頭名店,台灣美食一應俱全。還有供旅客使用的祈禱室。

許多旅客對機場新的轉機標示印象深刻。轉機區新增的綠色轉機識別牆,清楚告訴旅客要到哪轉機。

"過去我們顯示的字體比較小,近期,今年上半年度,桃機開始做比較大的識別的標示,這對轉機的旅客相當有幫助,因為可以簡單告訴他們,往綠色的指標走"
桃園機場去年旅運量達到3535萬人次,來到疫情前的73.1%,轉機旅客數量也大幅增長,轉機旅客來來往往,光是去年轉機人次就站上625萬,比疫情爆發前的2019年成長17.5%。

"台北轉機大部分還是以東南亞的旅客為主,東南亞透過台灣的轉機飛往北美,或是歐洲這部分占了六成,以華航為例,我們大概每天早上要疏運大概有將近2000多位的轉機旅客前往東南亞各地,下午那一波,也是大概2000多位,疏運到北美以及歐洲航線"
