To celebrate Children’s Day, which is April 4, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and Hsin Yi Foundation have organized six charity concerts that are inspired by books. FTV reporter Stephany Yang takes us in for a look!

To celebrate Children’s Day, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra and Hsin Yi Foundation have organized six charity concerts inspired by books. The performances will be held in five cities and counties during the month of April.

The reason why I think these two books are very suitable for performing on stage is because, with classical music, we can deepen the expression of the caregiver’s emotions and the friendship between penguins in these stories. This is very important for children’s understanding of the text. And making the picture books three-dimensional is also very helpful.

The concerts of these two picture books will be performed by our dedicated storytellers and four string music colleagues from the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.
The charity event combines picture books and classical music. It will feature performances inspired by award-winning books.

Because, for this story, it’s actually about a conservationist who came to Antarctica and used a melodica to interact with the penguins. There are a series of stories, so adapting these stories into a concert really fits with the core of the story.
The charity performance concerts will be held in Taichung, Yunlin, Hsinchu, Hualien, and Yilan till April 28.

為了慶祝兒童節，國台交攜手信誼基金會，舉辦六場公益親子繪本音樂會，邀請15所偏遠小學師生與在地孩童一起歡度兒童月。
老師說故事的同時，一旁還有小提琴、中提琴及大提琴手演奏。
慶祝兒童節，國台交攜手信誼基金會，舉辦六場公益親子繪本音樂會，四月將陸續在五個縣市舉行。

“我覺得這兩本非常合適上台演出的原因，是因為搭配這些古典音樂，我們可以把這些故事裡面保育員的情感，跟企鵝之間的友誼，流露更加的加深，這對於孩子在對於文本的理解，或者是把圖畫書立體化，都是一個很大的幫助。”

“這兩個繪本請了我們的專門的說書人，一起搭配國台交四位弦樂同仁。”
信誼基金會將獲獎作品《企鵝演奏會》、《紅公雞》兩本繪畫為主題，結合古典音樂。

“因為這個故事其實就是在講，一個來到南極的保育員，用了口風琴來跟企鵝們來做互動，有了一連串的故事，故事可以被改編成音樂會，真的超級適合這個故事的核心。”
4月4日起到4月28日，在台中、雲林、新竹、花蓮、宜蘭等五縣市公益演出，希望音樂會可以從都市走向偏鄉，深入台灣各角落。
