Being a soccer player or athlete in Taiwan is truly a blessing, because we have so many loyal fans and friends. They’ll always be our strongest motivation. No matter what, we’ll keep pushing out there on the field, because of them.
Chen was recruited to the national team when he was 17. He’s now been on the team for 18 years. This match was his final appearance in a World Cup qualifier. But the loss gave Taiwan a 0 to 5 record, placing it at the bottom of its group and eliminating it from the next round.
