If you’re looking for an island paradise to visit on your next vacation, the Pacific island country of Palau may just be the ticket. Ninety percent of its attractions are related to the sea. Afraid of the water? No worries! Local diving instructors say they can cure any form of aquaphobia. Follow our reporter as we get a peek into an island adventure.
From a high altitude, you can appreciate the beautiful coastline of Palau. The famous Peleliu Wall is one of the best diving sites in the world. The underwater world is what draws visitors to Palau, as 90% of the island nation’s attractions are related to the sea. What about people who are afraid of water? Can they enjoy a vacation on the island?

You have to wear a life jacket, and then just follow your guide. The tour guides here are good in the water, and they will guide you step by step, starting from the basics. Your guide is like a therapist, who will lead you slowly and help you relax in the ocean.
With a life jacket on and hanging on to a float, even landlubbers can go into the water, and there are professional diving instructors on hand at all times. No wonder people say that a trip to Palau can cure aquaphobia.

When I first got here I was really worried, because I’m not a good swimmer and was afraid of water. But after I came, I felt that it was really worth it, and I’m not afraid of water anymore.
But if travelers can’t get past this hurdle, worry not. There’s a new way to play in Palau. Paddleboarding has become a popular activity among Taiwanese tourists in Palau, and now it has been brought to a new level. You can paddle out of the harbor and get closer to nature at large.

Sitting on a paddleboard on the serene water of an inland sea, you can decide which direction you want to go in. Stretch out your hand and you can touch the clear water. Let’s follow our tour guide and head for a secret place.
Rock Islands is a great place to take the perfect shot for Instagram, with the backdrop of a limestone uprise. Or, you could paddle your way into a cave, or visit a plane wreck of a Japanese Zero from World War II. If you’re still not impressed, you can land on an uninhabited island and walk through a tropical rainforest.

During the pandemic a friend went paddleboarding by himself and discovered this place. Many Palauans may not even have been here. You have to use a kayak or paddleboard to get here.
Moss-covered stones can be seen everywhere on the uninhabited island. These are calcite. In the Stone Age, the Yapese people used these stones to make currency. If you go up the trail, you will find traces of life in some caves.

It is an unspoiled environment. It’s not like in Taiwan, where if you go paddleboarding or kayaking, it is more commercial and artificial. Here in Palau, the whole place is quite primitive, and it’s very beautiful.

The sea here is very wide. You can paddleboard and see corals underneath. In deeper water, you can just jump in. We went from island to island, so it’s very special.
How many shades of green are there in the woods and how many shades of blue are there in the sea? These questions can only be answered with a visit to Palau.

帛琉百分之90的景點都跟大海有關，不會游泳的旱鴨子到底能不能來帛琉玩？在地潛水教練掛保證，喊出帛琉專治怕水症，不過真的克服不了心中恐懼，沒關係，帛琉新玩法，讓旅客就算怕水，還是能夠在海上玩得開心，甚至還能走進當地熱帶雨林秘境。
高空俯瞰，帛琉絕美海岸線，知名的"大斷層"名不虛傳。海底世界，是帛琉的觀光招牌，九成景點，都跟大海有關。也因此，不少怕水旅客，其實會有些卻步。

套上救生衣拉著浮球，旱鴨也能下水，一旁還有專業潛水教練隨時在側，難怪大家說，來一趟帛琉，專治怕水症。

不過旅客要是真的過不了心裡這一關，沒關係，帛琉出現新玩法！台灣旅客最愛的SUP，來到帛琉，升級成豪華版，直接開船出海，帶您在海中央，上演少年Pi的奇幻漂流。

穿梭洛克群島，站在大白壁前，來張美照，或是滑進小藍洞，感受海水波光，映照石洞，還是來看看二戰時，沈入海底的零式水上戰鬥機。但這些都不夠看，登上無人島，直接帶您穿梭熱帶雨林。

“疫情的時候(友人)自己去划SUP(發現的)，很多的帛琉人，自己可能都沒有來過這些地方，必須藉由獨木舟或SUP，才可以進來到這裡面”
無人島上隨處可見覆滿青苔的石頭，這些都是方解石，石器時代，雅浦人就用這些石頭來做貨幣。沿著步道往上爬，好幾個洞穴，都有留下生活痕跡。

“它是未經破壞的一個環境，相對於在台灣，你去玩一些SUP，或是獨木舟，其實是比較商業跟人工，在帛琉玩，我是覺得是整個是很原始，那很漂亮”

“這邊的海非常的寬廣，你可以玩著SUP，然後看到下面有珊瑚，比較深水的地方，你就可以跳下去馬上玩，它是繞著一顆一顆的島去玩的，所以我覺得很特別”
樹林有多少種綠、大海有多少種藍，這道難題，只有親身走一趟帛琉，才能作答。
