Dog, cat show off intelligence equivalent to 2-year-old

Over in Keelung, a barbeque restaurant recently realized that one of their trash cans was missing. Security footage revealed the culprit to be a passing dog, who trotted over and carted the entire thing away. A veterinarian says that the intelligence of dogs is comparable to a 1- or 2-year-old child. They can adapt to their surroundings, learning things like how to shelter from rain and where to find food.
A black dog trots along, a trash bag complete with the can dangling from its mouth. A passing motorist filmed the entire adorable scene from a scooter. Who knew it was stolen from a nearby restaurant?

It went missing around 5 or 6 in the afternoon. A customer saw our Facebook and told us.
Security footage showed the dog catching a whiff of food while passing by the restaurant just before it opened. The dog went inside, picked up a trash can, and quickly absconded from the scene.

The trash can was probably used for food before. Dogs are as intelligent as a 1- or 2-year-old child. That’s why many children can share a type of communication with animals.
The average adult dog is about as intelligent as a 2-year-old. They can learn from and adapt to their surroundings. Some breeds are smarter than others. Judging from instinct, adaptability, and ability to learn, the smartest three are border collies, poodles, and German Shepherds.
In a related story, one family in the U.S. set up a camera in their kitchen so their daughter and her cats could see and hear each other while she was away at college. But when the cat heard her owner’s voice, it sat up on its hind legs and put its front paws together, as if begging.

Adult cats are about as smart as a 2-year-old. They’ll call out their owner for food. It’s like our cat. When it’s time to eat, he’ll beg us like this for food.
The vet says that dogs and cats are equally as smart. Through long-term interaction, both can come to understand commands like sit and fetch. Whether it’s innate or learned, exhibiting intelligence is nothing unusual for our furry companions.

超可愛! 狗叼垃圾桶.貓向鏡頭拜託"要主人回家"

日前基隆一間燒烤店準備營業時，突然發覺垃圾桶不見了，業者調閱監視器發現，一隻大黑狗路過店家聞了垃圾桶後，低頭就把垃圾桶叼走。對此，獸醫師指出，一般成犬與人類的相比，智商大約為一、兩歲幼童，牠們可以從環境中學習、適應，像是哪裡可以找食物吃等行為，認為應該是垃圾桶裡面有食物味道，才會這樣直接叼走。

“下午大概5、6點的時候不見的，客人有看到我們的臉書，然後有傳給我們。”
監視器畫面拍下，這隻大黑狗，日前在一間基隆燒烤店，準備開門營業的時候，路過店家聞了一下垃圾桶，低頭就把垃圾桶叼走，快速逃離現場。

“可能那裡面有食物的關係，之前應該有放些食物。小狗的智商跟我們人的一兩歲是同步的，所以說很多小孩子，跟動物在一起的時候他們會互相溝通的。”
一般成犬智商大約跟兩歲幼童差不多，牠們可以從環境中學習、適應，像是哪裡可以找到食物吃或可以躲雨等等，不同品種的狗，智商也有差異，從本能、適應能力、學習能力三種標準來看，最聰明的狗品種，前三名分別為邊境牧羊犬、貴賓狗以及德國牧羊犬。
另外，美國一名貓咪飼主，上大學離家後，家人在廚房裝了監視器，好讓她們能透過監視器看到對方，聽到彼此聲音，沒想到貓咪聽到主人的聲音後，竟然用站立姿勢，將兩隻腳合掌，做出拜託的動作。

“成貓的部分(智商)兩歲左右。(叫主人) 回來是要吃東西，你像我們家的貓就是，你要給牠吃東西的時候，牠就會這樣拜託給我吃東西。”
獸醫指出，成犬和成貓的智商，差異並不大，經過長時間相處，都能慢慢夠理解人類的某些詞語，像是坐下、去撿的指令，無論是本能反應還是後天訓練而來，貓狗的這些行為，都是見怪不怪。
