Keelung bus stops get charming makeovers in bid for tourism

In a bid to boost tourism, Keelung is rolling out makeovers of many of its local bus stops. One of the new tourist bus stops is at Qidu Post Office, and it’s got a bit of local charm to it, just like the others. It’s actually designed like a bus itself, complete with a steering wheel. Let’s go to Keelung to check it out.
A post bus is parked out the front of Qidu Post Office. But that’s a rather large door… Oh no! It’s a bus stop!
Inside, you find it’s fully equipped with a driver’s seat, steering wheel and even windscreen wipers. Some tourists take a selfie while waiting for their bus.
Here at Zhengbin Fishing Port, tourists are snapping not just the rainbow-colored houses, but also the bus stop, which has transformed into a hot dog and hamburger stand, complete with a butcher’s pork cuts diagram, and cute little piggy pictures.

To be really honest, Taiwan has a lot of buildings, but compared to Europe, America or Japan, there’s still a lot of room for improvement in Taiwan. I think that it would really help local tourism if the government spent more money on these things.

I think it’s worth coming. I came here specially from Taipei. I read about it on Xiaohongshu. It said the bus stop was pretty, as well as the colored houses out the front. So I came specially for that.

We’re going to incorporate a light, to give the whole bus stop a warm and welcoming feeling, so that people waiting there can be in a cozy space.
This bus stop is decorated with local flair, and it’s drawing in extra tourism as a new attraction. But locals hope, like bus users all over the country, that the buses will come on time, old buses will be retired, and taking the bus will be safe and reliable.

基隆候車亭變身 "融入在地特色"成為打卡景點

基隆公車候車亭大變身，融入當地特色，化身郵務車，或是熱狗店等等造型，吸引不少民眾前往拍照打卡，也帶動光觀熱潮。
七堵郵局門口，停了一輛郵務車，但車門怎麼是大開的，原來這可是公車候車亭。
走進候車亭一看，郵務車內駕駛、方向盤、雨刷等設備，通通一應俱全，讓民眾等車，邊拍照打卡。
來到正濱漁港，民眾不光拍彩虹屋，候車亭更是化身熱狗漢堡店，有完整的豬肉分解圖，還有可愛的小豬圖案。

“憑良心講，台灣有很多建設啊，你如果去跟歐美相比，或是日本相比，然後台灣其實還有很多建設的空間，我是覺得說政府如果花錢在這上面，是對地方的觀光是很有幫助。”

“我覺得很值得（來），我特意從台北過來，然後就小紅書上面看到，然後他說這個車站很漂亮，還有前面那個彩色屋很漂亮，所以我特意過來的。”

“後續會搭配燈光，讓整個候車亭呈現一個溫暖，而且溫馨的一個感覺，讓在這候車的民眾，能夠有一個舒適環境空間。”
候車亭融入當地特色，增加觀光人潮，成為打卡拍照的景點，但民眾依舊希望，公車誤點，汰換老舊公車，保障他們的乘車安全。
