
South Korea’s dystopian thriller series “Squid Game” became a smash hit three years ago, getting people all over the world glued to their screens. And now, Season Two is about to be released later this month. Ahead of the premiere, Kaohsiung will be holding a theme party at its harbor as part of a global promotional campaign. There will be drone shows, themed events and even a giant inflatable of “The Doll.”
A massive inflatable slowly takes shape on the pier at Kaohsiung. It’s none other than Young-hee, the doll from the smash hit series “Squid Game.”

She follows the mayor on Facebook, so we know there’s going to be an event on the 21st. We saw they were inflating her so we came over to have a look.

It’s quite exciting, I’ll find some time to come and take a look. It can draw tourists. Not bad at all.
The second season of “Squid Game” is getting released this month, and Kaohsiung is joining the promotional campaign. While the inflatable was getting tested, a mother brought her daughter dressed up in the Squid Game player uniform for a game of red light, green light.

We bought the costume when the first season came out. The inflatable is so big. It feels just like the TV show, as if you were taking part in the games.
The Kaohsiung Light Rail has also got decorated with trains themed after the series.

It’s special. I’m sure visitors would like it too. I’ll go to the event on Saturday to have a look. I have a friend visiting me in Kaohsiung, so we can go together.
Besides the inflatable doll, the event on Saturday will feature a drone show at night, which will contain clues as to the plot of the upcoming season. There will also be a massive party where revelers are asked to wear the signature pink of the uniforms of the “Squid Game” guards. For one day, Kaohsiung port will become the “Squid Game” arena.

全球熱門韓劇"魷魚遊戲"第二季,睽違三年即將開播,高雄市也配合全球城市串聯宣傳,影集中火紅的角色"英熙娃娃",已經在高雄港充氣測試,吸引民眾搶先看,除了輕軌主題列車,21日也推出無人機表演、粉紅派對、魷戲體驗等,一日限定活動。

等了三年,魷魚遊戲第二季即將開播,高雄市府配合城市宣傳,主辦單位也提前進行充氣測試,還有媽媽特別帶著女兒,穿著戲裡同款的綠色運動服,和英熙娃娃來場一二三木頭人。

“因為第一季的時候,我們就買了這一套衣服。氣球很巨大,感覺跟電視上看到的那個很像,對啊 很像參與其中”
一旁的輕軌站,車廂也換上新裝,打造成魷魚遊戲的主題車廂。

“就是滿有特色的,遊客來到也會喜歡。我會去看,對啊 禮拜六會去看,剛好有朋友來高雄玩,會記得去看”
而活動重頭戲21號登場,除了有海上大型英熙娃娃,超級吸睛,晚間還有無人機表演,當中還會暗藏劇情線索,一日限定的粉紅萬人派對,將讓整個高雄港變身成魷魚遊戲場。
