Leopard cat mother spotted with three kittens in Miaoli

The area around Miaoli’s Tongxiao Township is often visited by leopard cats. Cameras set up by local patrols recently captured rare footage of a mother wandering around with her three kittens. Let’s take a look.
Deep in the nighttime, an animal slinks through the forest. If you look closer, you can see one, two, three babies following closely behind. This is in Tongwan Village in Miaoli’s Tongxiao Township. Local patrols often find traces of leopard cats here.

We always see them around. But this is the first time I’ve seen a mother with three kittens.
The four cameras set up in this forest often capture glimpses of all kinds of animals. Even peacocks and muntjac deer have crossed their paths. They’ve also been lucky enough to capture footage of leopard cats hunting.

If a leopard cat comes around here and there’s a mouse, it’ll eat the mouse. If chickens accidentally get out, the cat can have a feast. The food chain lures them in. This is the main reason.
Leopard cats are often found around this area, but the patrols’ cameras have also discovered 18 hunting dogs before. Now, in addition to educating the community about the importance of conservation, they also conduct regular inspections for invasive species.

超可愛! 石虎媽媽帶三寶出沒年前出現"拜年"

苗栗通宵一帶，經常有石虎出沒，當地巡守隊架的監視器，就捕捉到了，石虎媽媽帶著三隻小石虎閒逛的珍貴畫面，而且時間在新春期間，就像是來拜年一樣!
深夜的樹林裡，一隻小動物緩緩經過，仔細一看，後面還跟著，一隻，兩隻，三隻小寶貝，這是在苗栗通霄鎮通灣里，當地的巡守隊，多次發現石虎蹤跡。

“一直以來都有，只是這次一母帶三子，這是第一次”
這片林地一共設置了4隻攝影機，經常可以拍到各式各樣動物，就連孔雀、山羌等等，都曾經入鏡，也很幸運的有拍下過，石虎出來打獵的畫面。

“(石虎)來到這邊如果有老鼠吃老鼠，如果有雞不小心跑出來，牠(石虎)甚至還可以打打牙祭，食物鏈引誘牠來，這是一個最重要的原因”
當地是石虎經常出沒的地帶，不過巡守隊發現攝影機前曾經出現過18隻獵犬，現在除了會定期向社區宣導保育的重要性，也會定期巡視有沒有外來動物入侵。
