Hualien institute offers cheap fish fry to local fishers

Since there are no fish hatcheries in Hualien, local fishers spend a good amount of money buying fish fry, or juvenile fish. To ease this burden, the Hualien Aquaculture Breeding Institute offers locals eight species of fish fry at very low prices, ranging from $2 to $15. Online registration opened in March, with fishers quickly signing up to buy cheap fry.
These large fish tanks hold guppies and goldfish, as well as native species like the paradise fish and edible fish like tilapia. This is Hualien’s Aquaculture Breeding Institute, which sells fish fry to local fishers at low prices starting in March every year.
The fry are scooped out and put in plastic bags, then sent to local government offices. With prices ranging from $2 to $15, local fishers agree that they’re incredibly cheap.

It’s very generous, cheap, and not expensive. Normally goldfish fry is very expensive.
Located on Taiwan’s eastern coastline, Hualien produces high-quality fresh seafood and other aquatic products. But there are no fish breeding farms in the county. To support local fishers, the Aquaculture Breeding Institute is selling eight kinds of fish fry, with each person limited to 1,000 for edible varieties and 500 forpets.

This year is the first time we opened online registration, with a registration link on our official website. We breed fish based on public need and notify those who registered to come collect their fry from June to September.
The institute supports local aquatic industries and conducts ecological restoration. It’s also normally open for tours to educate the public on fish farming.

花蓮縣內因為沒有魚苗繁殖場，為了降低漁民購買魚苗的成本，水產培育所今年配售8種魚種，以2到15元的銅板價格，販售給在地民眾，而今年3月首次開放線上登記，湧入不少養魚民眾搶購。
魚缸內除了孔雀魚、金魚、原生種的蓋斑鬥魚外，還有紅黑色食用的吳郭魚，各式各樣通通有，這裡是花蓮縣水產培育所，為了降低在地漁民購買魚苗的成本，每年3月開放民眾登記購買。
魚苗撈出，用塑料袋打氧包裝，在配送到各鄉鎮公所，水培所用心培育魚苗，以2到15元不等價格販售，沒聽錯!這樣的銅板價格，讓不少養魚民眾直呼好便宜。

“今年也首度開辦線上登記作業，我們官網上面有線上登記的連結。我們會依據民眾的登記的需求，來去做繁殖，那在6月到9月的部分，會通知民眾過來做魚苗的領取”
水培所進行生態復育，也深耕在地，平時開放廠區參觀，進行食魚教育的教學，要讓民眾對養殖魚類有更加的認識。
