16 campaigns targeting KMT lawmakers submit signatures

Sixteen recall campaigns targeting KMT lawmakers have submitted enough signatures to the government to hold a recall vote. Political commentator Wu Ching-yi says about 10 recall votes have a high likelihood of succeeding in removing KMT officials from office. But the push for signatures by other campaigns isn’t over yet.

In a bid to gather signatures from the Hakka Community, representatives held an event at Baozhong Temple in Hsinchu. They are targeting lawmakers representing Hsinchu and Miaoli. Other active campaigns include Yen Kuan-heng’s recall in Taichung, and Lo Ming-tsai and Lin Te-fu’s in New Taipei. Campaigners say efforts continue full steam ahead in 10 districts around Taiwan.
