Firefighters hold gas explosion drills inside indoor theme park

A firefighting division in Taichung held drills in an indoor theme park, simulating a gas explosion in a crowded area. They even hired a special effects makeup artist to render wounds, making the drills even more realistic. Let’s take a look.

As summer vacation approaches, Taichung’s firefighters held drills in an indoor theme park, which usually sees large crowds. The drill at the food court attracted many onlookers.

It’s very realistic. Even the special effects makeup looks real and gave the kids a fright.
To make the drills as realistic as possible, a special effects makeup artist was hired to create wounds that may occur in an explosion, such as burns and even punctures.

We must design special effects makeup to do with each scenario. For this one, I rendered an open fracture on the thigh and fractures of the fingers.
Amid a simulation of raging flames, a fire-fighting robot is being deployed. Drones capture the scene to facilitate dispatching of firefighters.

Fires are larger in large spaces. An unmanned robot with a large water volume can spare our firefighters from entering dangerous scenes which endanger their safety.
The drills help firefighters become better equipped to deal with an emergency, should it ever arise.

暑假來臨，台中消防局第三大隊，結合室內樂園，舉辦消防演練，模擬人潮眾多的美食街，萬一發生氣爆，出現大批傷患的救援應變演練，還請來特殊妝師幫演出的傷患，重現穿刺傷以及燒燙傷的妝感，讓演習更逼真。

暑假到來，台中消防局第三大隊結合室內樂園舉辦演練，選在人潮眾多的室內樂園進行，模擬美食街大氣爆，吸引民眾圍觀。

為求演練逼真，受傷的妝，也得符合災害情境，出現了穿刺傷以及燙傷妝。

“必須要針對每一場演練，去針對傷情去做設計，我有幫他們做一個，大腿的開放性骨折，然後還有另外一個，手指的斷肢”
火勢衝天，救災神隊友消防機器人加入救火行列，也要搭配空拍機飛行，拍攝災害現場，讓指揮官更好調度。

“大型空間的時候，火載量比較高，我們這種大水量的一個無人機器人，他可以避免我們人員，深入火場的縱深當中，會造成同仁的危害”
面對突如其來的災害意外，唯有做好準備，加強模擬演練，累積應變能量，才能降低災損。
