Nutrition tracking with ChatGPT is one of the latest weight loss hack trending on social media trend. A content creator based in Switzerland shared that she’s lost 7kg in one month just by telling ChatGPT her weight loss goal and tracking her meals. A Taiwanese woman recently tried this method too and managed to lose 2kg in a month. However, a licensed nutritionist says AI can only give broad suggestions and fall short of individual considerations. She said for a tailored plan that actually works, it’s still advised to seek help from a professional.

She tells ChatGPT the ingredients she has on hand. In mere seconds, ChatGPT gives her a nutrition breakdown and suggestions on how she can make the meal more balanced.

The ingredients are boiled then quickly stir-fried and seasoned minimally with a touch of salt and soy sauce, which allows the taste to stay true to the original form. In the past month, Stella has prepared all her meals this way.

My health check results from last month weren’t great, so I thought I’d lower some of the figures. My body fat percentage was pretty high, so I wanted to lower that and my weight and become healthier. I kept track for a little over a month and lost around 2kg. My body fat percentage also came down by one percentage point.

The numbers show her how she can improve. With the help of AI, Stella managed to eat healthier and successfully brought down her weight and body fat percentage.

I think what’s most impressive is that it can address any problem you might have. For example, I was quite busy a while ago and had a cold sore breakout. It gave me advice on what not to drink or eat. It’s like having a private doctor and nutritionist in one.

ChatGPT gave Stella advice every step of the way in her weight loss journey, and motivated her to reach her goal. Meanwhile, a content creator also managed to lose 7kg in one month with ChatGPT.

The advantage of ChatGPT is that it can give you inspiration, for example, recipe ideas, or demonstrate how you can balance out your plate. But do keep in mind that there are limitations. For example, it’s less individualized, so for instance, it may not know that you may have a high cholesterol level, an unstable blood sugar level, or have problems with kidney function. If you rely on AI long-term for weight loss without changing your eating and behavioral patterns or build new habits, you could easily regain weight.

Using AI for diet advice could be helpful in one’s weight loss journey. But a nutritionist also reminds users that ChatGPT’s advice may not be applicable for everyone. To stay healthy, it’s important to stay consistent with healthy meal plans.

減肥不再靠節食、爆汗運動,現在只要"問AI"?近日網路興起一股用AI擬定飲食計畫、達到健康減重的潮流,一名瑞士網紅就分享,她每天只要向ChatGPT語音回報吃了什麼、希望控制多少卡路里,AI就會給出完整建議,實測下來,1個月瘦了7公斤,台灣也有人跟進嘗試,一個月掉了2公斤。

貼上現有食材,一問Chat GPT,詳細的飲食建議、營養配置,馬上秀出來。

用水煮、拌炒等料理方式,簡單灑點薄鹽醬油調味,吃出食物原味,這一個月來,Stella一日三餐,都這樣吃。

“因為我剛好上個月的(健康)報告不是很理想,所以我就想說那個指數想要讓它下降,體脂剛好之前也很高,我就想說順便來減肥減脂加健康這樣子。我大概測了一個多月,體重其實就大概掉了2公斤左右,然後體脂也大概降了1點多%”

考量身體健康,需要靠數據控制,Stella借助AI,均衡營養,成功減重減脂。

“它的優點就是你可以當作一個靈感,例如說可以提供你食譜的點子,或是營養均衡的餐盤案例。但是有些限制要注意喔,例如說呢它是比較缺乏個人化,所以他可能就不知道例如說,你有一些膽固醇高啊,血糖不穩啊、腎功能的問題。如果你長期靠AI減重,缺乏飲食習慣的行為改變啊,或是習慣的養成,很容易會復胖”

把AI當營養師,讓減重之路,事半功倍,但營養師也提醒,科技少掉人性,不見得適用所有人,正確飲食、持之以恆,才是維持健康的不二法門。
