Travelers aghast as man drives scooter along train platform

Scooters are everywhere in Taiwan, apparently even inside train stations. A scooter driver was recently spotted riding on the train platform of Neili trail station. Though the sight is striking, it seems no one at the station found it surprising enough to report the matter to authorities. However, after a review of security footage, the driver has been identified and summoned to provide a statement. Let’s hear what people think.

The first issue is how he managed to get in. It’s so crazy. He could’ve hit someone.

I think in Taiwan we don’t find it particularly shocking. It’s dangerous, for passengers and for himself. If he had fallen onto the tracks, they would’ve had to stop the trains.

After reviewing surveillance footage, we confirmed that the man had indeed ridden his scooter onto the platform at Neili Station. He will be referred to the Railway Bureau for penalties under the Railway Act.
Though it’s not yet known how the scooter rider ended up on the platform, at least nobody was hurt. If he had struck someone, or if someone ended down on the tracks, the incident could have turned into something much more serious. Though it should go without saying, remember not to ride your scooter on the station platform.

桃園內壢車站週日下午2點多，一名男騎士騎著機車闖上月台，影片被PO上網後引起討論，雖然鐵路警察沒有接獲報案，但事後調閱監視器釐清狀況，危險行為已經違法，將依鐵路法將騎士函送法辦。

“台灣人來講，其實我覺得不是很意外，挺危險的，對於來搭車的人，或者對於他自己都很危險，萬一他不小心摔下軌道的話，車要停駛

“經警方調閱監視器畫面，該男騎乘機車，進入內壢車站月台屬實，調查後將依違反鐵路法，將行為人函以交通部鐵道局裁處”
騎機車擅闖月台，不說已經違反公共危險罪，如果不小心撞到人或掉進月台，後果不堪設想，也提醒民眾這樣的行為不可取！
