Most middle-school students are still learning and having fun, but one student in Kaohsiung has already started making money. Music student Teabat is earning money by drawing. She started drawing in fifth grade and now takes professional cases online. She can create characters from scratch, draw storyboards, and even make short cartoons.
Holding a stylus and drawing on a board connected to her phone, Teabat draws Ultraman in just a few minutes. For this middle-school student, copying known characters is easy. She even designs her own characters.
When Teabat creates characters, she doesn’t just draw their appearance, but gives them personalities and background stories. She also includes them in storyboards and short comics. Self-taught Teabat started drawing in fifth grade, and is now earning money by taking cases online.

People reach out to me to request drawings through websites that post about jobs. I started drawing because, first, I can make money, and second, it’s an interest. If the time I spend playing games can be spent making money instead, why not?

It’s great! Time spent relaxing can now be spent earning cash. She is always drawing at home, even late at night.
Teabat’s perseverance has earned her sister’s admiration. She may only be in middle school, but she’s already supporting herself. She saved up enough money to buy this drawing board, which she uses to create all kinds of characters. People even ask her to make products with them, like phone cases and clothes.

Most of them are stickers or other products. Storyboards make more money, but also take more time. I usually spend 30 to 40 hours on a storyboard and earn NT$500 per page.
Teabat is not only talented at drawing, she also studies trombone. She spends her days immersed in art and music, learning, growing, and now earning money.

國中都還是學習玩樂的年紀，帶您來到高雄，就讀國中音樂班的茶品蝠，卻已經開始靠著畫插圖賺零用錢，她國小五年級才接觸畫畫，國中開始就能在網路上接案賺錢。不只從無到有創造出虛擬人物，甚至還能繪製分鏡表，創造出短篇漫畫。
拿著觸控控筆，在連接手機的繪圖板上作畫，不到幾分鐘，超人力霸王就出來了。作畫的是就讀國中的茶品蝠，臨摹圖樣對她來說小事一樁，還能自己設計角色。
創造虛擬人物，賦予角色樣貌、性格和背景，甚至還能繪製分鏡表，創造出短篇漫畫。茶品蝠國小五年級才接觸畫畫，靠著興趣自學，國中開始就能在網路上接案賺錢。

“會透過一些約稿的網站，有單主來找我約(畫圖)。會畫畫的契機大概是，第一可以賺錢，第二是當做一個興趣。打遊戲之類的時間加起來，如果可以換成錢那也不錯。”

“很好耶，原本花在娛樂的時間，還可以換成現金。她在家裡就一直畫，熬夜也會畫畫。”
妹妹對繪畫的執著，讓姐姐也相當佩服。茶品蝠儘管還只是國中生，卻不用靠家長支援，自己賺錢買了近萬元的繪圖板，創造出各個角色，還有顧客委託製作衣服和手機殼，做成文創商品。

“目前是以貼圖或是文創商品居多。分鏡的話比較賺錢，但也比較花時間，(畫分鏡)通常會花30、40個小時，一頁分鏡500元。”
不只展現繪畫天賦，茶品蝠還是音樂班的長號手，每天徜徉在繪畫和音樂的世界，樂在其中。
