
To mark 30 years in service, the Taipei MRT has overhauled its uniform design for the first time in 16 years. This sixth iteration highlights functionality and safety. Formal suit jackets and ties have been replaced by short-waisted jackets that are easier to work in. But don’t think this change will sacrifice professionalism. The double-layered collar makes the entire look structured and stylish.
For the Taipei MRT’s 30th anniversary, the uniforms are getting a much-needed overhaul 16 years in the making. So how are they?

It’s more flexible and breathable. For conductors operating above ground, the temperatures during summer can get to 36 or 37 degrees, especially in Tamsui. Sometimes they’re drenched in sweat when they turn back at the end of a run. These will be a lot more comfortable.
This sixth generation of the MRT uniform sports a blue-and-white color scheme. The suit jacket and tie have been retired in favor of a short-waisted jacket and a shirt with a double-layered collar. The two-way zipper makes it more convenient for conductors to access their waist bag and pockets. The maintenance uniform is made of functional fabric that’s lightweight and moisture-wicking, while a reflective strip along the leg will keep them safe on the job.

“比較彈性,通風度也很好。(司機員)在高架平面段,夏天的時候,溫度常常到36、37度,尤其淡水更熱,他們在折返的時候,有時候都是滿身大汗,這對同仁的舒適度,會有很大的幫助。”
第六代運務人員制服,改爲藍白色系,西裝外套與領帶退役,換上布勞森短腰夾克,及雙層領登場。雙開拉鍊設計,讓車長拿腰包、掏口袋都更便利。維修制服使用機能布料,強調輕量保暖、吸濕排汗,小腿外側的反光條,更能提升作業安全性。

“台灣是機能布料的王國,所以我們這次的在材質運用上,是大量導入了機能布料,讓同仁穿得更舒適。”
北捷每天平均載客量達兩百萬人次,員工做為公司門面,體面穿搭,還得兼顧作業方便。
