This exhibition showcases how Taipower has for many years not only generated electricity at its facilities but turned them into important bases for ecological conservation. This is the key of this exhibition.
The rare species featured include the Yuchi music frog that lives around the Mingtan Power Plant, the Wushe blood-spotted longhorn beetle that lives around the Wanda Power Plant, and the black-face spoonbill that comes to the wetlands by the Hsinta Power Plant every winter.
Huang Wen-san
National Museum of Natural Science director
Taipower’s Wanda and Dajia River power plants were among the first sites in Taiwan designated as conservation coexistence areas, which is truly remarkable. Honestly, I really admire Taipower’s contributions to biodiversity conservation.
Taipower conducts environmental monitoring around its power facilities and turns these sites into ecological habitats. The exhibition showcases those achievements and aims to inspire more companies to protect Taiwan’s natural environment.
